Chasing Politics Review

Amazing ensemble cast for this sweeping political epic. I recognized the homage to The Godfather, and that was what I could most relate to, as the complex Indian electoral party and political issues were sometimes quite confusing to me.

I was surprised at the final payoff of the movie, as a hidden family relation was not ever revealed to Samar. I admire the ambition of the film, even if it doesn't quite work in every aspect. The final violent confrontation stretches incredulity when these savvy politicians have until that moment been careful to keep a distance and have others do their dirty work. Ranbir Kapoor played Samar very cold and calculating. In the sequel will we get the scene, "Just when I thought I was out...They pull me back IN!"?
