Saas-damaad twist!
First of all, can you please get me a husband like Nikhil? Oh wait. You can't. Because he is an angel. The only thing that feels a little too dramatic about this series is the protagonist, Nikhil. He is just too sweet and innocent.

WHAT THE FOLKS is a typical Indian serial concept with role reversal. What I mean is that, instead of saas-bahu chaos, there is saas-damaad chaos. I mean, love. Awfully cute love.

The wife is away in Delhi while the husband has come to mumbai for a few months for work. And guess who stays in Mumbai? The in-laws! The parents are overjoyed and are always extra cautious not to miss any chance to take care of their 'ladla damaad'. It's cute to watch them fuss over him while he gets too shy and gooey.

The most humourous part of the series is way the inlaws try to control their temper even when Nikhil messes things up. And he messes things up a lot, okay! It's cute to see them change their usual attitude and try to adjust with Nikhil while he, oberwhelmed to get such a loving family, tries to grow up.

WHAT THE FOLKS is a twist to the age old stereotypical Indian household but the irony lies right there. The extra care and the extra formalities emphasize the fact that it isn't normal for the husband to stay with his in laws and is always an object of affection despite whatever he does. This show tries to change some of the mindsets while retaining the age old characteristics and emotions. But none the less, it is a breath of fresh air.

What The Folks, is rightly named. The show is bag full of funny moments, maddening hospitality, a bit of fights, topped with some very sweet gestures and the love of parents. The show is an irony to the stereotypical Indian daily soaps.

Nikhil, the son in-law comes to Mumbai due to some work & stays at his in-laws place, while his wife Anita is away in Delhi. Like any other Indian family, the in-laws try to make their son in-law feel comfortable and homely at their place, which is so relatable.

The family re-unites on the occassion of their parents' 30th anniversary. There goes on a series of events before and after the party, which is highly entertaining. These events majorly include Nikhil messing things around, and how the in-laws control their temper on their "damaad".

His journey from calling them uncle-aunty to maa-papa, from awkwardness to relaxed, his character has every bit of reality. The love, care & warmth of the family is soothing to watch.

What the folks is a satire on the family system in india. It’s true that marriage is not between two people but two families. What enfolds when a man has to go live with his in laws for some time. How will he adjust ?how will he live? Since everyone has different way of living in their own house. This story has a fun take on the situation. I would really recommend watching this show. It’s entertaining and light hearted. You’ll love it. #mustwatch #family #entertainment

What The Folks! Is one humorous, maddening, and a totally light hearted show.
It is pretty interesting to see how a son in law decides to come and stay with the parents in law and how he adjusts to the family, as well as how over the time the family warms up to him entirely.
It's #bestoffamily, #cute and # #entertaining
The show represents what a close kind of a bond can actually be established between the new member of the family and the family. Akshata getting along with Nikhil, her brother in law is a sweet sight to witness. It's important to notice how everybody is 'now' trying their best to win each other's heart and how they spread so much warmth!

Veer Rajwant Singh plays Nikhil, the loving husband from Delhi who agrees to stay with his in-laws on his wife’s insistence on his business trip to Mumbai. Anula Navlekar plays the ‘natkhat saali’ Akshata, who teases her brother-in-law at the drop of a hat. As Nikhil lands, he loses his mobile phone at the airport. What follows is a complete mindboggling, disastrous, irritating, funny chaos that Nikhil doesn’t know how to handle. The only thing that we missed in the first episode is lack of information, which is always the case with a new series. But that will surely go away in the second episode.
