Can you believe that this kannada movie is running in theaters since 3rd july. Today i had the opportunity to watch this blockbuster, which is my second kannada movie after Bara. i overcame my hesitation to watch kannada films today and here i am writing about it. All i have to mention about it is praise, praise and praise. Touted as psychological thriller it has the subtext of a person suffering from dissociative identity disorder or multiple personality disorder and the reasons behind it. Many plots and subplots do run parallel but they are their to confuse the audience and the audience get enmeshed in intrigue and mystery. The colourful adornment of yaksha gana artists adds to the fear factor of the audience. Rangitarang means colourful wave, which the protagnist describes it as wave of life , as it goes up there is happiness and as it goes down there is sorrow. Yes there is seamless thread of sorrow runs in the movie which is manifested by the loss of dear ones and also the betrayal by the ones whom we trust the most. But as they say "life'' and its associated metaphors ultimatly win. I was reminded by the book by Richard Daft "Elephant and the Executive" while watching this movie because this film has successfully exhibited that when Elephant (mind) is beyond the control of Executive, things can really go awry. A must watch for everyone. And yes it has subtitles.
