Engrossing!
Breathe, an Amazon Prime series, is one of the most mind boggling series that I’ve come across which certainly also makes it one of the must watch as well. The story tugged hard at my heartstring when little Josh tells his doting and loving father that he does not want to die. The soft hearted person turning into a mastermind criminal plot has its own set of loopholes but one does not pay much attention to it when the storyline is so engaging. The two concurrently running stories and their intersection surely does shake the viewer’s mind. All in all ‘breathe’ is a pretty engrossing show.

Starring R. Madhavan and Amit Sadh, 'Breathe' is the story of a father, Danny Mascrenhas, who goes on a murder spree to save his son's life, apparently. The plot is gripping with some excellently thought out murders, however, it falls short of being actually convincing. The actors have done a remarkable job. Though the smugness with which he murders donors with the rare blood group type can't make you easily buy the whole story. Some comparisons have been drawn between the legendary character from Breaking Bad, Walter White, and the caring yet horrendous father, Danny Mascrenhas taking on a life of crime when a horrible twist of fate decides to define their lives . Overall, it's a good watch and with just 8 episodes, binge watch worthy.

Danny Mascarenhas (Madhavan) is a football coach in Mumbai, A widower, he is facing another impending tragedy: his son’s possible demise to cystic fibrosis, a critical pulmonary condition that can only be corrected with an urgent lung transplant. The list of recipients is long, and Josh, Danny’s son, does not have the time. So, Danny comes up with the diabolic plan to kill those who have signed up as donors to move Josh up the list. Amazon Prime Video has released eight episodes of the series and most of these are devoted to Danny figuring out ingenious methods to kill his targets without arousing suspicion. The show has a tall premise, one that becomes especially untenable given Danny’s other character traits. He is a much-admired football coach, having earned the respect of generations of aspirants and their parents. He is a devout Catholic who offers flowers at his wife’s grave regularly. To have him turn into an insensate murderer, even to save his son’s life, takes some getting used to.
At the other end is inspector Kabir Sawant (Sadh), battling his own demons. He has lost his little daughter to a gunshot wound (the gun was his) and his wife has swiftly moved on to a new life. He drowns his days in drink but retains the keenness of perception that will help him put together the pieces of the puzzle orchestrated by Danny’s actions.
Both Madhavan and Sadh inhabit their roles consummately. Sadh is particularly good as the depressive who passes his days in a blur. Viewers may have trouble accepting Madhavan as a cold-blooded killer – his soft features do not help – but to the actor’s credit, he is able to walk the contrast between tender and merciless with admirable finesse.
It is important to breathe so don't forget to watch breathe!

This series is a #mustWatch for all those #detective and #bestOfThriller fans out there. It has an amazing plot with nail biting suspense. Though I must mention that the first 2 episodes are bit boring as they are too long and don't make much sense. But with the 3rd episode you can really get into the flow of the series. Madhavan plays a very #intense and #dark role but his acting is really appreciable. He plays the role of a single dad whose son suffers from a lung disease and it can only be cured with an urgent lung transplant. Since he is a dedicated father, he goes to the extremes to help his son get out of his misery. For this, Madhavan kills all the donors so that his son would move up the list to receive lung transplant.
