Hutatma : Season 1

The year is 1955 and the Chief Minister is about to make an announcement which can create chaos in Bombay city. Leaders like Acharya Atre, Senapati Bapat, S M Joshi and S A Dange call for a march to protect people’s rights. However, things get out of control and Vidyulata's (Vidyut) father gets killed in a police firing.

Vidyut is helpless but she's firm that she will not remain silent. When Malinitai visits the victims’ families, Vidyut gets introduced to journalist Shreerang. Meanwhile, the Panchamahabhuta meet over drinks and share their individual views about the unfortunate police firing incident.

When Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru declares that Bombay will now be a union territory, it creates panic at all levels. Malinitai decides to plan a march in Delhi. Meanwhile, Vidyut is stunned when she realises the truth. Later, she is introduced to comrade Abhay Sane.

Nehru is concerned about the decision on Bombay. Meanwhile, Acharya Atre and other senior leaders face the consequences of their protests. Vidyut is ready to move on to the next step of her plan.

Shreerang tries to get closer to Vidyut but she remains focussed on her goal. Jawaharlal Nehru meets Morarji Desai and confronts him about the problems in Bombay.

Malinitai confronts WARA for his editorial. Atre and Dange discuss a future strategy but have a difference of opinion on the Samyutka Maharashtra Movement. During his speech, Nehru faces the wrath of the locals and leaves the venue in frustration. Meanwhile, Abhay and his friends get trapped and are arrested by the police.

Vidyut gets clarity and now she's ready to accomplish her mission. She is all set to confront anyone who may come in her way. Pandit Nehru visits Pratapgarh to clear his image as advised by Yashwant Rao. But there's more than meets the eye.
