“The Underwoods have no children or they do: Their Legacy”
Frank Underwood is a Democratic Congressman from South Carolina who actively supported and worked for President Garret Walker’s successful campaign and was promised a seat on the table as Secretary of State. When President Walker did not keep his end of the bargain, Frank secretly conspires to replace him as the President of the United States. Supported by his wife, Claire, who runs a successful NGO, and Doug Stamper ,his chief of staff, the Underwoods begin their way all to the top with the goal of leaving an everlasting Legacy.
House of Cards is one of the most addictive and twisting TV Series with some strong performances by Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright as Frank and Claire Underwood. The twists and turns in the ride with Frank Underwood is quite unexpected and unprecedented. The Story telling is very good and binding to say the least. It also brings into light the constant pressure and manipulations and dirty secrets used to get the job done. It also shows the situation handling and efforts of World Peace by the United States leadership. House of Cards is the story of the son of a small peach farmer from Gaffney being ruthless and trying to fight off the resistance to reach his top goal or maybe not. That’s House of Cards in a nutshell. You never know when you are being manipulated like in season 3 Frank goes to Gaffney to pay respect to his father. Everyone thinks he is paying respect but in a constant narrative Frank tells how much he hated his father and ends with pissing on his grave. So ya all respect thing was just for the show. The same time narrative by Frank himself explaining his thinking and plans add to the beauty of the show. House of Cards is a must watch strongly recommended with 5 seasons (6th season to come out in 2018) and is one of the best shows on TV.

“All the Gods, All the Heavens, All the hells are within you”
Libya is free. A little too free for a stable country. Too many leaders/groups trying to take control of the city has led to Benghazi becoming one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Free arms including Rocket Launchers and Mortars are being sold in the open market without any kind of supervision or law enforcement. Every country has shut down its diplomatic offices except the United States of America. USA has one diplomatic office in Tripoli and a coveted CIA Base in Benghazi protected by a team of Private Military Contractors from Global Response Staff (GRS). The ambassador comes to Benghazi with plans of a peaceful liberal Libya but on September 11, 2012, the United States Diplomatic Outpost is attacked by Tangos and then begins the 13 hours of survival.
Being a Michael Bay movie, 13 Hours does not disappoint in the number of explosions. The action scenes are skilfully crafted. The script lacks at certain parts with many inefficient dialogues. The acting performances is down to average. There were some factual controversies that erupted during the movie like CIA Chief of Station asking the GRS Team to stand down and not rescue the ambassador during the attacks and the conditions of the lack of air support by the US Air Force. Also, it presents a partial narrative of the actual events. The Secretary of State Hillary Clinton blamed for the mess in this situation was not even once named or referred to in the movie. The movie tries to bring out the patriotism and the actual events during the crisis but in some ways, fails to do so. The action scenes are intense getting more and more intense by every passing frame. The struggle of the GRS Team to hold back militants coming in waves garner them the respect they were long overdue. 13 Hours is a good movie with some great action scenes and some compelling story telling.

“Nothing ever happens in Hawkins they said”
Hawkins is a small town in Indiana where Hawkins National Laboratory performs research and experiments for the United States Department of Energy. In the 1980s, a human lab experiment of the Laboratory with telekinesis abilities open a portal to a new world called the upside down. Also during the same time Will Byres goes missing after being attacked by a strange creature. To find him, Will’s Mother Joyce Byres and Chief of the Hawkins Police Department Jim Hopper join forces and begin their investigations. During the same time Will’s friends Mike, Dustin and Lucas befriend a runaway and mysterious girl Eleven who helps them in their parallel investigation. Will’s brother Jonathan Byres and Mike’ sister Nancy Wheeler begin their own investigation to find the strange creature with help from Steve, Nancy’s Boyfriend.
Absolutely Thrilling. That’s the first thing that comes to mind after watching the first season of Stranger Things. Unique idea and concept by the Duffer Brothers, strong acting performances and great direction has made the show an instant hit despite next to no promotions. Winona Ryders as Joyce Byres is very convincing as a single mother with a lost kid. David Harbour as Jim Hopper gives another strong performance of a police officer with a troubled past. The younger cast is effective as kids whose friend goes missing and innocence to find out about their friend and welcoming an unknown kid (Eleven) and helping her. Visuals create a 1980s look and the music also defines the 80s pop era. Visual effects and storytelling are spot on making this an addictive show. The character development, particularly Steve from a high school bully to a hero fighting to keep Nancy safe, is also shown beautifully and Joe Keery does full justice to the role. The review would be short and simple: Just WATCH IT. Because no review can do justice to the amount of suspense in the story.

This is the current entrepreneurship atmosphere of India in a nutshell. The youth is inspired by “overnight successes” of Steve Jobs or Larry Page or the Flipkart Bansals. So is Naveen Bansal (Naveen), working for an MNC dejected after being rejected at leading a project in Brazil, decides to start a company with his college friends Jitendra Maheshwari (Jitu), Yogendra Kumar (Yogi) and Saurabh Mandal (Mandal). They quit their jobs except for Mandal after a rumour that their “B Plan” reached the finals of the NASSCOM Startup Conclave to fully devote their time to the startup which later turns out to be false. And then begins the sacrifices and struggles by them to become an addition to the “overnight success” stories.
Pitchers is rated at 35th on the IMDb’s Top-Rated TV and for good reasons. It was something fresh for the majority youth audience in India bored of the usual Saas Bahu dramas on Televisions. Infact,the concept is one of the major reasons for episodes of the season to get about a million views each. Acting by Naveen Kasturia as Naveen, Jitendra Kumar as Jitu, Arunabh Kumar as Yogi and Abhay Mahajan as Mandal were convincing. The performances of the recurring cast Aakanksha Thakur as Saumya (Jitu’s Wife) and Maanvi Gagroo as Shreya (Naveen’s girlfriend) convinced the audience about the extent of the Entrepreneurs’ sacrifices for their Company. That being said, don’t mistake Pitchers to be a serious kind of story with intense struggles because it isn’t. The constant friction between Yogi and Mandal bring a bit of comic relief in the story. Also, the chemistry between Jitu and Saumya and Naveen and Shreya makes the audience go “aww” at places. It also manages to bring out the struggle of a guy from a middle class conservative family becoming an entrepreneur through Jitu.The fresh idea, strong performances and intelligent storyline and direction makes Pitchers the best TV Show in India and by quite a huge margin.
