The Holiday is the latest offering by Zoom studio packed with glamour and glitz. The show is focused on the character of an engaged Adah Sharma who sets out on a bachelorette with her three childhood best friends Patrick, Kabir and Armaan, played by Priyank Sharma, Veer Rajwant Singh and Aashim Gulati, each adding their own little spark to the show. The show has the appealing picturesque of the sapphire surrounding seas of Mauritius while having all kinds of fun that one can expect from a group of care free and fun loving friends who have known each other since ages. The show is a delightful experience with the cast that nailed their roles.

As the name suggests, Karenjit Kaur- the untold story of Sunny Leone, is the biopic of the Canadian born actress, Karenjit Kaur who works under the pseudo name of Sunny Leone. The show surfs various timelines, covering crucial events of the Bollywood fame actress. My absolute favourite part about the whole show was the way and the perfection with which Sunny portrayed herself going through different stages of her life. The joy and grief, success and failures and her passion took us along with her on this rollercoaster ride, which is her life. The actors chosen for their respective roles did their best on their screen-time. The only thing that put me off about the show was the constant transition between the timelines which became a little confusing. But the whole show threw a new light on the journey of this brilliant actress. She showed that she is more than what people are willing to believe in.

Predictable!
City of dreams is a classic truism of gangster tactics and offers nothing new or exciting to look forward to. Set in the year 2015, it follows the story of a prominent political figure Ameya Rao Gaekwad’s family as they set on the journey to get the political seat after the father lays in the state of coma after a futile attempt of assassination on him. In my opinion, the show was stretched on without any rational cause or for that matter, any storyline. The show got repetitive and highly predictable as I watched on. There are many supporting characters to the story but even they could not add much appeal to the experience.

Engrossing!
Breathe, an Amazon Prime series, is one of the most mind boggling series that I’ve come across which certainly also makes it one of the must watch as well. The story tugged hard at my heartstring when little Josh tells his doting and loving father that he does not want to die. The soft hearted person turning into a mastermind criminal plot has its own set of loopholes but one does not pay much attention to it when the storyline is so engaging. The two concurrently running stories and their intersection surely does shake the viewer’s mind. All in all ‘breathe’ is a pretty engrossing show.

Amazing storyline.
Gullak, TVF creation is a story about a family of four living in a small town in North India. I loved how homey the show felt. The whole series gives a big hit of nostalgia throughout its course. The show has a very easy going and laid back funny layout which delivers quite a punches. Each of the character brings a whiff of fresh air and its own quirks to the storyline. The mother brings her sarcastic and bossy attitude with style, the patronizing father and the two sons with their own set of funny exchanges and clashes. The show bring a smile, a sigh and an interest to carry on with its relatable and nostalgic storyline.

Watchable!
With a star studded cast, the 10 episodes show does a little justice to the hype created by its teaser and poster. Vikrant Massey is a goody two shoes who would do nothing to hurt anyone. This good boy attitude of never saying no, lands him in the ordeal of crime and courtrooms. The part that set the whole how off is the parallel running different themes of the show. Too many themes and genres, take the attention away from the whole point of the show. The best and my favourite part of the show was the character Mustafa, brilliantly portrayed by Jackie Shroff who becomes a jail companion for Massey’s character and also turns out to be his guardian angel in the prison. The episodes felt stretched on at some points, but other than that it is a nice watchable series and can be found on Hotstar.

Zindabaad is a web series written by the well-known name of the thriller genre, Vikram Bhatt. The show is about an ex-RAW agent turned security agent, best of his time. The show’s initial episodes present the heated and angry behavior and persona of the protagonist, Arjun Vashisht toward the children of the nursery school that runs on the ground floor of his apartment building. His stony exterior hides a lonely yet loving heart which harbors love for the children. This is where the story takes turn, when the local train of Mumbai, the mode of travel for the children blasts up killing all the children. The news delivers this as an attack by the terrorist group Fauj-e-azaadi. This pushes Arjun to go back to his RAW days as he threatens to kill the leader of the group. And so he does. The thing that displeased me about the show was its lack of the realism factor by showing Arjun as the undefeatable human. He is shown to be fighting a large mass of officers whilst being injured himself and still manages to defeat them single-handedly. Heroic much? The soundtrack of the show is amazing and so is the star cast that delivers their scenes with absolute ease and perfection and the show that wakes the patriot in you

Mind the Malhotras is sadly a poor attempt at a comedy show. the show follows the life of a middle aged couple, trying to reignite the spark that has vanished from their marriage, twins teenaged daughters and a son who is 8 years old. I started watchind the show for Cyrus Sahuka but even he could not put the fire in the show. the show presents challenges of their everyday life in a non-humorous way and this stops the viewers to have it on their binge-watch list. The tadka of humour is massively missing from the show but still has a few tickling moments about it.

Gripping!
Haq se is an Alt Balaji original concentrated on the lives of the Mirza sisters. The scenic beauty of the breathtaking valley of the heaven on earth, Kashmir steals the limelight of the whole show. Through the troubled lives of the Mirza sisters, the makers of the shows captivatingly depict the sorry condition of the place where the heavens fall, getting ruined between the politics. Each character on the show brings a different issue on screen just like the condition of Kashmir like the issue of existence, lack of freedom, hopelessness to name a few. The amazing cast gripped my attention throughout the duration of the show along with the element of mystery in the characters. The beauty of Kashmir won’t let you stop halfway.

Romantic delight!
Comprised of all the passion in the world, Baarish is a 20- episode series by Alt Balaji that will have you hooked for its beautiful yet capturing love story. Set in Mumbai, the show revolves around the lives of opposites Anuj Mehta and Gauravi Karmarkar, excellently portrayed by Sharman Joshi and Asha Negi. Mumbai monsoon acts as a cupid in bringing the two together and adds a beautiful and romantic element to the show. The mesmerizing soundtracks feel like the cherry on the top of the cake of this delightful romantic love story. The only thing missing from the show was the realism factor. But other than that, everything from the cast to soundtracks to the storyline and the setting of the show was top-notch.
