Khushi Sharma reviewed Leila
Realistic
Leila, a Netflix original is scary yet engrossing at the same time which makes it all the more intriguing to watch. Set in a dystopian world of Aryavarta in the near future, year 2050 to be precise, the show depicts the poor and sorry conditions of the mankind in the years to come due to the torture we are doing on the earth in today’s time. It is terrifying how real the whole future looks and if that is seriously going to happen in the time to come. The show has an interesting and engaging plot filled with the struggle of the protagonist and the awful lifestyle where air and clean water are considered to be a luxury. The show faced its own set of controversial viewpoints but in my opinion, I quite liked the show which had a nail biting and sitting on the edge of my seat moments.

Khushi Sharma reviewed Abhay
Don't
Imagine its weekend and you decide on watching one of the recently released web series for your entertainment and in the first episode itself you witness psychopaths, cannibalism and what not. Perfect, no? This exact thing happened to me as I innocently started watching ‘Abhay’, a Zee5 original. The show makers decided to experiment with this show by adding a tremendously unnecessary amount of gory factor that might make bile rise up your throat. No exaggeration. The show has great amount of violence and is vile and better left unwatched. The show’s plot is extremely insensitive and can make you blood boil.

Refreshing.
The world that we live in so obsessed with perfection but on the other hand, it is extremely condescending with any idea of perfection might clash with their idea. Imperfect is a witty, sanguine and coming of age story about 24 year old Isha whose perfect life with a doting and perfect boyfriend, a perfect job and a more than perfect home, comes down to tatters in a matter of few days. Following this, she sets out on turning her imperfect and messy life around to a happy and promising future. I absolutely without even a speck of doubt loved the writing of the show. It is so innovative and unique in its own way with its brilliants dialogues and the story line. The show is packed with humor and wit in perfect proportions. It is a wonderful show.

Apharan by Alt Balaji is one of the best series released in 2018. Everything about the show is top notch. The dialogue delivery, the screen time of all the characters, the story line, the acting skill of the cast and the audio tracks are just marvelous, to say the least. I really loved the one liners present in the show and the natural acting of the cast which makes you so involved with the plot that you start living it as well. The show presents the gangster vibes in its own special way which makes it different from the other crime thriller series. A must-watch for all.

Disappointing.
Remember how in school every other guy looked like they stepped out of a magazine or how PDA was considered to be extremely normal. No? ME neither. There is a day and night difference between realism and the story of Puncch beat. The show was so hyped and had a rating of 8.1 that I decided to check it out. Needless to say, I could not go further than 2 episodes without eating an aspirin. With no offence to the whole team of the series, this show is an akin to Karan Johar’s student of the year. Either I studied at a really uptight and boring school, or this show decided to fully ignore the realism of the school life. The show has absolutely no relation to the innocence and carefree school life. The only thing good about this show was the acting skills of the cast which did not look too pretentious but was really nice.

Enjoyable!
Dil hi to hai is another trademark of Ekta Kapoor’s production with its lavish and more than enormous sets, loving yet troubled business tycoon family and a sweet meddling love story that brews out of initial hatred. Cliché much? But the interesting part of the show is its appealing view. Karan Kundra, serves as a treat to the eye as he makes his television comeback. I really admired the way Ekta Kapoor incorporated boldness into the show which neither gets too vulgar but still manages to serve the purpose. The story is quite engrossing for the romance buffs. And the best thing on the top of this amazing creation is the star studded cast that did full justice to the character they portrayed.

Amazing storyline.
Adaptation of an Israeli series, Hotstar’s new series has an astounding yet extremely confusing storyline. The whole plot of the show has so many subplots that after a while, the viewer loses interest in keeping the track of it. Each character comes with their own baggage, their own skeletons in the closet. Once I started watching the show, I could not keep myself from clicking on ‘next episode’, the show being that intriguing. Though the ending disappointed me a tad bit, still I don’t regret watching the series. Ronit Roy and Tisca Chopra literally aced their role to the par.

Mr. Das is a chuckle some web series that offers quite a few laughs but somehow tugs at your heart strings for its realism and practical storyline. The cat and mouse chase between the snarky boss and the hand working yet frustrated sales manager who is tired and troubled by both, his professional as well as personal life. The show kind of feels like a reincarnation of ‘Horrible bosses’ in Indian tadka. A few moments that I liked in the show were Mr. Das’ interaction with his boss regarding his resignation or with his fellow co-workers regarding his tough life. The show is quite a good watch with an amazing cast that played their role to the peak.

Shaitaan Haveli is the stands up comedian Varun Thakur’s parody of the old Bollywood horror movie with the tinge of humor. The show is set in a haunted yet enormous mansion where a B-grade director decides to make up for his loss by shooting a horror film. Little did they know that instead of filming one, they will be living in one. The show has gotten mixed reviews but personally, I liked the show. I have always been a fan of Varun Thakur and to witness him in this parody is such a treat to eyes. But the show becomes a little mundane after a while and feels stretched on for quite long. But all in all it is a watchable and humor filled show.
