This movie is a remake of "Munna bhai MBBS", which is a adaptation of Robin William's master piece, "Patch Adams". One liner from Patch Adams has been presented with sensible and necessary humor and masala.
Director has done a good job in remaking, but my credit goes to the dialogue writer, Crazy Mohan. He is a king of puns, and the comedy is evergreen. You can watch it more than once and my magic number is in double digits.

The audience of "Chennai 28" were college students and people in their early or mid twenties. Sequel released after 9 years, again targeting the crowd. And so the audience can relate to the characters of this movie so easily, just like how they have related to the first movie characters. When comes to the humor, the movie has one liners rather than separate acts, just like the original movie. Bringing the "Gopi's bat sentiment" is one of many heart warming and funny moments of this movie. Reference to other movies of this director and to current trend in movie world, brings laughs. Since the movie doesn't have any unexpected twists or thrills, you can enjoy the movie more than once.

This movie unveils the horrors of the fundamentalism's (Christianity) current state. Though the movie goes around explaining the events happen in the "bible belt" (red states) region, it can very well be related to the behavior of any other fundamentalist groups around the world.
