Air date: 09 Nov '98 - 6 episodesReal World/Road Rules Challenge is the 2nd season of the MTV reality game show, The Challenge. The season is directly subsequent to Road Rules: All Stars. The season marked the first time in which "Real World/Road Rules Challenge" would be used as the show's main title. In addition, it's one of two seasons absent of a subtitle, a trend that wouldn't truly emerge until the show's 4th season. It is the first six-on-six Challenge in the series. The teams traveled via tour bus and RV starting in San Francisco, ending in Universal City, California, competing in different individual challenges. The winning team had the right to travel in a tour bus, while the losing team had to travel in an RV. Each time a team won an individual challenge, they won the right to spend time in a "money machine". The "money machine", set up outside Universal Studios Hollywood in Universal City, California was a huge wind chamber that contained up to $150,000. Whatever the casts could keep on them, they were guaranteed to keep. This season also featured an additional challenge where the two teams competed over possession of a teddy bear. Whichever team had the teddy bear in their possession at an unknown, predetermined point in the challenge, would win the additional challenge.

2. Bed Sores
16 Nov '98They arrive in Mammouth Lakes CA, where their next mission will take place. In their campsite, they find a newspaper that has a article about their mission. It says that casts of the Real World and Road Rules will take part in the yearly Frontier Day's Bed Race. There is talks about whether Beth should stay in the challenge or not. 3. Getting Drunk
23 Nov '98They are heading to the Hollywood YMCA where both teams know they have to work, but not sure on what they'll be doing. The Real World team is tired of losing and Neil is wondering why he even decided to do this challenge. They arrive at the YMCA, and the ladies and men are seperated in different locker rooms. 4. The Joint is Jumping
30 Nov '98We start back with Janet still freaking out at the top. Her hands have formed into fists and they won't open. The Bungee Master tells her that she is having some sort fo spasms. She still wants to jump but he tells her to go back down, rest alittle, and she can come back up. 14 Dec '98We start right back in at the Playboy Mansion. The Playboy Bunny tells them to leave their stuff on the front lawn cause she's gonna take them on a tour of the property. They see exotic birds, monkeys, and other animals.
