A slow burn look into mind of sociopath
Spoorloos is definitely a challenging film to watch. I, for one felt it was too slow but in that pace it worked magic. A story which maintains suspense to the very last scene and an antagonist who was so chilling that legendary director Kubrick personally congratulated the director for writing such a character. A villain who does things only to prove to himself that he can do those things kidnaps a woman and the hunt for her by her boyfriend comprises the story. Even after the killer and his motive is reveled sometime into film it does a exceptionally well job to keep the suspense. It is truly one of a kind movie to maintain suspense out of nothing. It might be slow but stick with it to witness something hauntingly beautiful.

Best of mind bending animation
Paprika is one of the more popular anime due to Christopher Nolan blatantly copying the concept. He was not the first to copy Satoshi Kon. Darren Aronofsky too purchased rights to another Satoshi Kon movie Perfect Blue just to "borrow" few shots in his 2008 flick Black Swan. Satoshi Kon who has made just 4 movies was truly a genius and his last movie Paprika deals with a device which involves travelling into dreams of subjects and its malfunction which results in amalgamation of dreams and reality. The opening seqeuence of the anime is truly a work of brilliance and the flow of the scenes and the editing is art itself. The music composed by Susumu Hirasawa is orgasm inducing and a straight up ear porn. The editing of this film is very good. The characters need a bit of work with romance in the plot making no sense but overall its a very enjoyable ride.

Masses all over the world were getting ready for the latest installment of Avengers which was termed as the biggest crossover in the film industry. To me this was the biggest letdown in the movie industry. A huge inconsistent movie in its tone and logic. A villain whose plan and a dozen of heroes whose actions didn't make any sense came together to make a blockbuster movie without any sense. Thanos who looks like a pro wrestlers wet dream cooked up a plan which involved killing half of universe. It didn't make any sense as it would be a matter of time before the 3.5 billion humans still present would go back to 7 or 14 billion again. If humans could do it then what about other species who could multiply faster. Wouldn't they repopulate faster. Time and again Thanos would have to snap his fingers and time and again Avengers would have to fight him. Why was Iron Man so strong while the magician Dr. Strange so weak and could barely hold up against lackeys. Why didn't Strange do the bargaining trick on Thanos. If the only plan to succeed was to hand him the time stone then why fight Thanos and why would the time stone go to Thanos only due to mistake of Star Lord. The movie worked without logic and so did the villain. A product of bad direction where the directors thought audience would buy any shit then showed.

An anime ahead of the times.
Akira is one of the most influential anime films ever made which revolutionized the industry like never before. The anime was popular to fans in the west and was a big influence in anime like NGE, Ghost in Shell, etc. which came in later on. A near perfect sci-fi film which borrows its story from a near perfect manga is a tale about friendship, jealousy, and the consequences of unimaginable power. The animations are as fluid as they can be and the background are so well done that each frame has countless things happening around while the story moves ahead. With a real great hero and a real great story not much can go wrong with akira. The only real problem is how much it skimmed considering the manga is 200 chapter long and the movie a mere 2 hours. Yet, it is an immensely enjoyable and philosophical watch.

One of the funniest comedy you could ever see.
Based on the TV Show of the same name (which is not necessary to view this) Klovn is seriously one the funniest film you could watch. The people who are not familiar with the show or are not familiar with Danish comedy, in general, might feel the movie starts slow, but once it does pick up and introduce viewers to the questionable morality and unethical antics of our protagonist, there is no way a viewer can control their laughter. This is not a comedy for the uptight and faint-hearted as the movie really pushes the boundary for unethical actions some of which are straight up crime, and not of the cool kind. Yet, at the heart of it, the movie is a very unconventional father-son story presented as a demented comedy.
