I wish the actress was nice to the guy. She is not nice to him till the end and expects him to be happy to marry her. Vijay's acting was cute though. I really loved the songs - inkem inkem & vachidama

I really liked Vijay's acting. There was some critique that the lead acted like a jerk but he won in the end. The way I saw it, he did lose a lot - health and medical license. I thought the ending was going to be sad.

The granny - Baby was quite mean and I found it quite hard to sympathise with her. Just because people had a hard life doesn't mean that they can be as mean as they please when they are old but we should love them because they are old.

This series title is misleading and should have been aptly titles street food vendors because it focuses on street food vendors and their lives and less on the food. I was unimpressed by the Delhi episode. Mainly for American viewers

I thought that Gauravi's dad's character was like a Paresh Rawal wannabe and totally annoying. The series had a lot of cliches but it was a fun watch. I wonder how Mumbai is less crowded in this series, it's like they were in another city altogether.
The music was good.

It was cute in some parts but I felt it was weird that Samantha was completely unaware of certain small town Indian norms. Also, why didn't Nitin tell her he couldn't afford the TV and other cosmetics. Again a case of lack of honest and open conversation when dating.

The message was nice but I did not find it logical that the 3 children did not visit their parents for 10 years. It portrays people living abroad as mean and uncaring. I hardly know of anyone who have not visited their parents for 10 years. This is not 1995 when tickets were unaffordable or students who can't fly back. These are well settled adults with adult kids. Moreover, it is unrealistic that a woman who has grown up in Australia is suddenly happy living in a village in India and that too without any prior experience. That is a little too naive for me.

I loved the acting, dances and costumes in this movie. Of course, I wish Indian love stories included some honest conversations but apart from that, this is one of the movies I really enjoyed.

I believe the TV show would have been better with a longer explanation of her philosophy. A lot of it seems weird to Americans because of cultural differences which I wish they had touched upon. I have read her books, so it was easy for me to get but for new viewers who haven't read her book, it might seem unclear.

It started out great and the idea was great but it was 4 episodes too long and after episode 6, it was too much unnecessary drama, crying and unwillingness of the family to discuss what they saw seemed unrealistic. There was no explanation provided for the house and from what I gleaned from watching, some of the things did not make sense.
