When a virus leaks from a top-secret facility, turning all resident researchers into ravenous zombies and their lab animals into mutated hounds from hell, the government sends in an elite military task force to contain the outbreak. The film opens with an introduction of the origins of the Umbrella Corporation which at the beginning of the 21st century is the world's biggest conglomerate entities while its political and economic influence is felt everywhere. But unbeknownst to the public, it hides a sinister and criminal secret that the megacorporation itself is involved in military technology, bioweaponry and genetic experimentation.
