It puts me in mind of Dick Goughan introducing his performance live of "Now Westlin' Winds"; "the perfect song- it says everything it's conceivably possible to say about anything". This beautiful film is the same. It's sacred. It's about humanity and everything sublime we do and make from our profane, imperfect states of being. Employed reviewers have been dismissive, discomforted by the presence of the filmmaker's ever-present sensibility. People want to be finessed, not declaimed at. Just let go, be immersed in this hyper-real diorama. It's completely wondrous. Every moment is rarefied. People, flayed by the assaults of life, experience these crystalline moments monumentally.
