INCREDIBLE. THE EXTENT OF THE AUDIENCE'S EMOTIONAL INVESTMENT IS THOR'S BEST SUCCESS.

When I watch Marvel movies like Thor, Captain America, etc., I put aside the comics and focus only on the movie. In this case, rating it solely on the movie alone - it was pretty incredible. It had a healthy balance of humor, sadness and grief, as well as thrill and action. It played at your heartstrings, tugging your emotions incessantly -- one second, you could be smiling sweetly at a romantic scene and, the very next, laughing at Loki's silly jokes. Even the harrowing, grief-filled scenes were outstanding. Many scenes left me gasping in both surprise and sadness. While I never did cry (thankfully), it did cause me to choke up a couple times. More than anything, it does a great job playing with your mind. Which Loki is the real Loki? The man who saves others -- or the one who destroys worlds? The one who loves his mother, or the one who doesn't have a mother? And what happened at the end? The movie leaves you with a ton of questions -- always fun for a fan. It is a must-see.
