Mr. and Mrs. Iyer Review

Meenakshi Iyer is on her way to Calcutta along with her infant son and her parents request fellow traveller, Raja Chowdhary to help her during the bus journey.Set amidst the backdrop of communal riots,Raja reveals his Muslim identity to her as a rioting mob enters the bus.On first thought,she is resents his company but later introduces him as Mr Iyer to the mob and from thereon unfolds a sweet and most unlikely romance,one that is beyond religious barriers.The movie keeps you engrossed till the end,as the two strangers struggle to find their way home while pretending to be a couple.Aparna Sen manages to extract the best out of her actors.Rahul Bose is aptly cast.Konkana Sen Sharma steals the show with her moving yet powerful potrayal of an orthodox Tamil Brahmin.It's rare to find a movie of such calibre these days and that's why you shouldn't give it a miss.
