Reviews & Ratings for
Jodha Akbar (2013)

One of the best Historical TV shows around.
This is a tv series aired on zee tv on every weekdays at 8 pm produced by Ekta Kapoor casting Rajat Tokas(Akbar) and Paridhi Sharma(Jodha) in the lead role. It dwells upon the famous argument about a Rajvanshi Queen in the Mughal palace whom few refer to as Harka bai or Heer Kuwar whereas some say that she was wife of Akbar's son Jahangir and not Akbar himself.
The episode 1 starts with a 13 year old inheriting his father's kingdom and under regent Bairam Khan(Naved Aslam) rules heartlessly over a kingdom expanded to the lengths and breadths of then Northern India. He is shown as a heartless ruler whose hunger is fed only by killing people and expanding his territories.
He is influenced by Maham Anga (Ashwini Kalsekar), his foster mother and Bairam Khan through the early period of his rule and then enters Jodha in her life who changes him completely. She makes him realize the presence of heart inside him. They both fell in love with each other.
The TV show comprises of 80 percent of the actual events taken place in the history whereas 20 percent is fiction. Many characters have been added fictionally for the sake of crunchiness.
The sets look modern unlike those in the Jodha Akbar movie directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar. The look of the characters isn't that appealing and by no means appear like 16th century. The acting of Rajat Tokas is breath taking as once again he proves why is the preferred choice for the historical roles.
The plots are exciting and with all the Masala added to the reality, it attracts a lot of people to watch and follow the show closely even if there is a lot of fiction content in it.
