A very meaningful movie! Should watch it!

Iqbal directed by Nagesh Kukunoor is a well scripted story of a poor village boy who dreams of representing nation in cricket. Since childhood, he follows tries to self learn the game. Being a dumb, he is unable to communicate well with others except his sister. Shreyas Talpade as Iqbal gives a mind-boggling display of acting with Naseeruddin Shah (an alcoholic ex-cricketer) who needs no applause for the kind of work he performs in all movies.

Iqbal is allowed to train at a newly opened academy near his village where his immense talent is misused and other cricketers of rich family background are given more importance. After expelled from the academy he asks a drunk ex-cricketer to train him to bowl. They start their sessions in a field where Buffaloes are given names of Indian cricketers and are considered as fielders. He grooves under the coaching of Naseeruddin Shah and plays for a weak Ranji team where he performs exceptionally and gets a new recognition.

The movie is all about a journey of a dumb poor village boy who reaches the zenith through sheer determination and hard work. The climax makes one emotional and makes us feel like standing and applauding the sweet success of hours of daily sweat!

Even though you are not a cricket lover, you may love the intensity and the message behind the movie. Definitely an under rated movie which deserved a lot more appreciation for all aspects. Time worth spent watching the movie.
