How is life through the lens of a middle class family in small towns of India, perhaps precariously just abutting the cosmopolitanism of the metros yet miles away from it metaphorically? 'Gullak' speaks for this life, everyday happenings that characterise their routines, series of anecdotes that define their comings and goings so eloquently. Of course, it isn't your quintessential 'North Indian' drama. There are no badlands, gangsters or turf wars. It is the story of the common man, the children and the strongest force of any family- the mother, but it isn't just that. 'Gullak' is amazingly written and produced. The funny undertones and the breezy, light hearted banters are just some of the things that make this an adorable watch. Overall, it's a fine specimen of how shows need to be produced and acted out. Amazing!
