This series is far better than the original FMA released around early 2000. The original series was very much deviated from the manga. On the contrary, Brotherhood sticks strictly to Arakawa's plot. The art in this show is simply superb. The show does a brilliant job of making each character’s motivations easy to understand, yet complex enough that they aren’t totally flat. It also has a way of forcing characters who were once enemies to work together when faced with a common enemy. The transformation of an enemy into the side of heroes, is what fascinates me the most.

Voice acting in this show is one of the best you will ever hear. Especially the voice of character Ling Yao, by Miyano, who also did the dubbing in Death Note for Kira/Light Yagami, and in Stein's Gate for Okabe Rintarou. Opening and closing theme songs were also among the best in anime, especially that song 'again'. Background sound had always been the strong point for animes. So, here also, it was no exception.
