All Nighter (2017)

Loved this unique, hilarious & quirky film!
It sets itself apart from the rest of the cinematic world - which has been dwelling on simply rehashing old ideas for many years now - and delivers an unusual and intriguing idea for a storyline! The anti-affection of the 2 main characters, Martin and Mr. Gallo, is so hilarious and, yes, heartwarming, esp. after they stick up for each other in separate bar fight incidents, that by the time they come around to genuine affection for each other, we (the audience) were already there! The film is decorated with a thoroughly engaging and weird patchwork of character actors that could almost springboard into their own story! It's even got a musical respite here and there that even though it's banjo, was still highly enjoyable! Bonus points for the unexpected romantic highlight towards the end! **Admirers of the lovely Annaleigh Tipton will be sadly disappointed, as she's barely in this film; once at the beginning to set up the romp, then re-appears again at the end, for punctuation to the story. The fine acting and comedic timing of all involved, particularly the always delightful Emile Hirsch, culminate in a thoroughly enjoyable film which I've bought and watched countless times at this point. Good on ya, cast and crew!
