Air date: 07 Mar '01 - 13 episodesYears ago, the fearsome Pirate King, Gol D. Roger was executed leaving a huge pile of treasure and the famous "One Piece" behind. Whoever claims the "One Piece" will be named the new King of the Pirates. Monkey D. Luffy, a boy who consumed a "Devil Fruit," decides to follow in the footsteps of his idol, the pirate Shanks, and find the One Piece. It helps, of course, that his body has the properties of rubber and that he's surrounded by a bevy of skilled fighters and thieves to help him along the way. Luffy will do anything to get the One Piece and become King of the Pirates!

15 Apr '01As the Straw Hat Pirates travel from Reverse Mountain to Whiskey Peak, Nami has to adjust to the thought of having to watch the log pose constantly. As they arrive at their destination, the townspeople greet them warmly and throw a party in their honor. When the crew eventually falls asleep from exhaustion, the townspeople, who belong to the secret organization Baroque Works, plan on capturing them.

5. Exploding Santouryu! Zoro vs Baroque Works!
15 Apr '01While Nami searches the town for the bounty hunters' treasures, Zoro lets loose on the bounty hunters the two new swords he received in Lougetown, Yubashiri and Sandai Kitetsu. Afterwards, a new threat arrives, the Baroque Works officer agents Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine. Their mission is to eliminate the traitors who know the true identity of the organization's boss, Mr. 0.

6. A Serious Fight! Luffy VS Zoro: The Unexpected Duel!
21 Apr '01Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine follow after Vivi, who attempts to flee the island. Igaram, no longer in able to fight himself, begs Zoro to save her. When Zoro is about to take on Vivi's assailants, Luffy appears. Oblivious to the townsfolk's occupation as bounty hunters, he wants to kill Zoro for cutting them all up. Unable to convince Luffy of the truth, Zoro fights him.

7. Deliver Princess Vivi! Luffy Pirates Depart
29 Apr '01Out of imminent danger, Vivi explains that Baroque Works is responsible for inciting a rebellion in her home country, which is why she cannot offer a large reward, and reveals that Mr. 0's true identity is the Sir Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. Igaram sets out on the direct route to Alabasta, as a decoy. Miss All-Sunday, the partner of Mr. 0, appears on their ship. Without explaining her reasons, she offers the crew an Eternal Pose.

But Zoro realizes that Zenny has outlived Chopper's predictions and so the straw hats decide that, after helping him finish his pirate ship, they will leave the island.

Robin, Usopp, and Luffy meet Professor Henzo, who's doing research on the island's rainbow mist. When some of the mist shows up, Henzo borrows the Going Merry to go explore it.

Nami appears in the ship graveyard with a rowboat full of treasure and a string connected to the real world, which are both stolen by Wetton's subordinate. The Mayor uses the Rainbow Tower to make a bridge to the Rainbow Mist.

02 Feb '03The Going Merry escapes from the Rainbow Mist, getting badly damaged on the way. The Mayor gets arrested by a bunch of powerful marines that turn out to be older versions of Henzo's friends, who were thrown 50 years into the past by the Rainbow Mist's collapse.
