ISA scientist Moushami Ghosh faces her biggest setback when India’s ChandraViman-1 loses contact with Earth. India officially loses to China in the race to the moon. But the ISA scientists set their eyes on Mars. India aims to reach Mars before China. However, China has already reached Mars, even before Moushami and her team could get approval for India’s Mars mission

PMO office agrees to fund M.O.M but only on a condition that the mission is launched within eighteen months. The ISA agrees to these conditions. Now, the team M.O.M headed by Nandita must prove their skeptics wrong to make M.O.M a success.

Nandita is devasted when Center allocates only USD 75 Million for the entire mission. She tries her best to do some cost-cutting but finds it difficult to accommodate M.O.M in such a small amount. Later, MSLV fails its first test launch. Can ISA afford a second test launch?

After MSLV fails the test for the second time Moushami suggests that they use the tried and test ESLV instead. But it only has a success rate of 36 percent.

In the review meeting, Moushumi and her team fail to present their complete plan. She offers to step down as she may have overestimated her capabilities. Later, Gautam offers to seek the help of the American space agency, but Dr. Murlidharan is adamant on keeping M.O.M a 100 % Indian program
