This movie is nothing compared to the first one. There is a thin line to cross for a concept to go from believable to ridiculous and this movie crosses the line too many times. The whole plot line was not convincing enough. It is really funny at many places and the whole credit for that goes to Varun Sharma a.k.a choocha. I was glad that Panditji was given more screen time because Pankaj Tripathi was the only other good comedy act in the movie. I really missed smakiya (kaai lag ri hai noto pe) and his replacement did not live up to the expectations, seemed like he was trying too hard.
The first rule of Fight Club is- You do not talk about Fight Club, but I'm gonna make an exception here. This movie is so good that it needs to be talked about! Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden is just amazing. I love movies that are complicated and a little hard to understand, but when you do understand they blow your mind! The scene where the protagonist pretends to get bashed up by his boss is just amazing (so good that bollywood had to copy). Each time I watch this movie I find out something new, there are so many amazing elements that you can't fathom by just watching it once.
Tom Hanks, his accent, his acting, everything just takes my breath away! Forrest Gump is adorable, anyone would fall in love with him immediately and his smile is infectious (maybe except for Lieutenant Dan). Although the movie is a little long (2hours 22minutes) I have no complaints. I have seen this movie at least 10 times, whenever I feel low I just put this on and forget all my worries. All the protagonist has to say is "My mama always said" (in his southern accent) and I melt. This movie leaves you feeling warm and happy and makes you want to come back for more.
This movie is heart-wrenching and heart-warming at the same time and what makes it even more powerful are the bang on performances by Jacob Tremblay and Brie Larson. An Academy Award does not do justice to this masterpiece. Every feeling and emotion was perfectly conveyed, from the need to escape, to the helplessness of the mother after being rescued and their adjustment issues. The fact that a person can suffer so much even after the trauma is over has been conveyed beautifully. The way the mother has learnt to live her life within the four walls and still keep herself and her child healthy is amazing. Tremblay conveys all the feelings of a child who has seen the outside world for the first time perfectly. His innocence is so pure. This movie is love.
This movie is absolutely amazing. The way Will smith can pack so many feels in just one look is amazing. The performance of each actor was outstanding. The movie as a whole touches the heart and soul. I wish I had a gadget to erase my memory (like Men in Black :P) because all I want to do is re-watch this movie for the first time all over again and experience the magic. The ending leaves you misty eyed and hopeful. If you haven't watched this movie, then drop everything because you just can't miss this one.
Only one word for this movie- Traumatizing. I seriously do not understand what this was, who had the idea and most importantly WHY?! This movie was wayy too dark for me. I would not even recommend this movie to someone if I hated them. The beginning was really interesting and made you look forward to the movie and analyze the psyche of the main lead but it goes down hill from there.
