Juan Antonio(Bardem) a painter becomes the seductive force which beckons the ladies to discard their reservations and rationality. He is the evil,attractive,serpentine element which lures them. Contradicting this action,the character of Maria Elena(Cruz) descends as the rash voice which constantly tosses the characters into reality but owing to her state of mental imbalance,reality is thoroughly ignored until it hurts.
With a hidden tone of loneliness,and melancholy that realization of reality bestows upon us,VCB is a very good story presented in a very attractive manner. Blending of narratives with brilliant locations and stellar performance from a attractive star-cast,it is one of the most commercially successful Woody Allen movies.
