Due to his fear of facing life again, Eric decides to stay at a small town, where he can live easy for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, Alan has doubts about having done something worthwhile with his life after he wins a company award.

As Cory is feeling insecure about his hair, Topanga shows him that appearance is meaningless, and she proves so by cutting off some of her own locks, a decision she quickly regrets.

Alan decides he needs a raise at work, however he decides to quit, sending the whole family swirling into chaos.

When Shawn's mother arrives back in town, Cory decides to re-unite his friend's family, while at the same time honor the memory of Brenda, the devoted cafeteria lady of the school lunchroom.

When Eric offends Corinna, a strange, nerdy girl who writes her own songs, she writes a song downgrading him, and she becomes famous. Meanwhile, Cory and Topanga fear that their differing views on children could affect their future together.

Verna presents Chet with an ultimatum to find work, or she will take off once again. This causes Chet to land the job of school janitor, utterly humiiating Shawn.

Eric says he attends Harvard in order to be on MTV's Singled Out. Meanwhile, Cory is afraid of "disapearing" while getting his tonsils taken out.

Shawn insists things aren't what they seem when Cory catches him with a girl, but Cory won't buy it.

Cory agrees to go to a wrestling match with a buddy on the same night as Topanga's Sweet 16 party.

Assigned a Thanksgiving weekend assignment to consider how class divisions between the haves and have-nots are at the heart of the conflict in Rwanda, Cory and Shawn hope the Thanksgiving spirit will encourage their families to be better friends, but having the holiday feast at the Hunters' trailer park home is not what the reluctant Matthews family had in mind. Comedy veterans Buddy Hackett and Soupy Sales play two businessmen of a shady sort who hire Cory and, subsequently, Shawn to run "errands" for them. Since it is just before Christmas, Cory decides he can use the money for his holiday shopping. However, Cory quits once he figures out that the two gents are not on the up-and-up. When Cory discovers the reason why his girlfriend, Topanga, and Shawn are acting like more than just friends - in fact, kissing - he must come to grips with an important change in his life. What's worse than the peck is the reason behind it: Topanga's moving away to Pittsburgh.
