      The first season of the television comedy series Boy Meets World aired between September 24, 1993 and May 13, 1994, on ABC in the United States. The season was produced by Michael Jacobs Productions and Touchstone Television with series creator Michael Jacobs as executive producer. It was broadcast as part of the ABC comedy block TGIF on Friday evening, airing at 8.30 between Family Matters and Step by Step. The pilot debuted to ratings of 16.5 million viewers.

      Cory Matthews winds up with detention after trying to listen to a Phillies game in class, while his teacher, Mr. Feeny, is trying to teach the class the great value that love has in all of their lives. However, Cory doesn't find love and girls such a good thing when his older brother, Eric, takes a girl to a Phillies game instead of him. This prompts Cory to move into his treehouse.

      Cory is worried about the class water gun war, as he has no heavy-duty water gun to compete with. However, he soon strikes up a deal with Mr. Feeny, who makes Cory a deal: if he paints Mr. Feeny's shutters, he will give Cory the money to buy a new water gun. However, Cory rushes in haste to buy the water gun, and he gets green paint all over the fence.

      Cory is going to be shipped off to a "smart" school, after he and Shawn find the answers to an I.Q. test and Cory cheats, using those answers. He tries to play dumb when a representative from the school comes to interview him. Amy and Alan know that he cheated and act like he really is smart and that they want him to go to the school. Cory comes clean with them and Mr. Feeny and learns that cheating is not right.

      Cory gives up fishing with his dad when his grandma comes to town and makes him some great promises. But he's disappointed when she doesn't come through for him and Alan goes fishing with Shawn instead. Meanwhile, Eric uses Morgan to get the attention of Feeny's attractive niece.
