Asur Season 2: Everything We Know from Release Date to Cast Details

Asur came out on 2nd March 2020 and has already become a big hit with the audience. A one-of-a-kind mythological crime thriller, Asur has everything to draw fans of the detective-thriller genre to mythology and mysticism.

Nikhil Nair (Barun Sobti) is a forensic-expert turned teacher who is brought back to his roots in Central Bureau of Investigation, where he has to team up with his former mentor Dhananjay Rajput (Arshad Warsi) to hunt a brutal serial killer, with whom Dhananjay has a personal vendetta.
The show also explores the childhood of this serial killer, how he was mistreated by his father for his religious beliefs and the forces that drove him to become the psychopath he is.
The cat-and-mouse game that takes place in the show between the authorities and the killer is the highlight with the backdrop of Varanasi giving it the beautiful treatment of mythological yet at times scary atmosphere.
Without spoiling anything, Asur can be unsettling at times but it is engaging, creative and will keep you glued to the screens. It has a great cast, beautiful shots of Varanasi, a gripping story and twists that will want you to have more!

When Voot first launched in 2016, it came with Chinese Bhasad, Sinskaari, Badman which couldn't perform well with the audience.
With all the praise that Asur has received, Voot is definitely not going to let this one end just so soon.
Also, the cliffhanger that we are left with in the end! The fans need answers and WE NEED THEM SOON!
Jokes apart, it is highly likely that a second season can be expected around 2021. It is expected that most of the cast is returning (ofcourse, with the exception of a particular someone from The Family Man) with writer Gaurav Shukla and director Oni Sen returning in their respective roles.
