This year was the year of much hyped about debuts for Bollywood. From our most loved comedian Kapil Sharma to the smoking hot Karan Singh Grover aka Armaan from Dill Mill Gayye, the stars from the silver screen decided to give Bollywood their best shot. Not to forget the star kids who made it big too. Let's have a look at this year's smashing and not so smashing Bollywood debuts.

1.Akshara Haasan - Shamitabh

This green-eyed beauty got an opportunity many would die for a debut with Mr Amitabh Bachchan himself in Shamitabh. An ode to Hindi cinema, this movie did not live up to its expectations. But Akshara as the assistant director who gets the two men to collaborate is definitely someone to watch out for.

2.Karan Singh Grover - Alone

Cast along with the sizzling Bipasha Basu, Karan did manage to grab eyeballs with his debut. His crackling chemistry with Bipasha coupled with his handsome looks and acting skills did the job for him in Alone .

3.Kapil Sharma - Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon

Who thought comedians could be good actors?. This guy just proved us wrong. It was Kapil Sharma's brand of humour and comic timing that saved the movie. Even the most ridiculous scenes in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon looked hilarious only because of him.

4.Suraj Pancholi - Hero

This gali ka goonda with a good heart disappointed us. Heavily tattooed , great physique and amazing fighting skills is all that we remember him for.

5.Athiya Shetty - Hero

This star kid unfortunately did not deliver what was expected from her. The only noteworthy thing about this remake of the 1983 film was the song "Main hoon hero" by Salman. She has the right looks but her acting skills need brushing up for sure.

6.Swastika Mukherjee - Detective Byomkesh Bakshy

This delicious thriller received a positive response from the critics and Swastika as the exotic dancer Angoori Devi gave an impressive performance in Detective Byomkesh Bakshy . We hope to see more of her.

7.Harshali Malhotra - Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Harshali as the angelic Pakistani Shahida aka Munni steals the show with her heartwarming performance in this movie which also happens to be one of Salman Khan's best performances. Harshali is refreshing and charming and that is what works for the movie.
Remember this scene of Bajrangi Bhaijaan ...

8.Bhumi Pednekar - Dum Laga Ke Haisha

This movie has it's heart at the right place. Bhumi as the educated yet overweight girl Sandhya who knows love may not be in her destiny is stunning. This couple wins you over with their simplicity.
Here's hoping that we will get to see more of young talent and impressive debuts in 2016. So who does your vote go to?
