Korean horror movies are quite popular. Why? Because they scare the hell out of you. Here s a list of 11 such movies that you should definitely watch if you haven't yet.

11. The Wailing

The arrival of a stranger and the mysterious death of villagers coincide. A policeman is all determined to know the truth behind.

10. The Host

The host is a monster film directed by Bong -Joon-ho. The dumping of Chemical into South Korean rivers results in the creation of weird monsters that are all set to attack human beings.

9. Bedevilled

A psychological horror movie which speaks the story of a woman who is abused on a remote island trying hard to find her way out. It was an official selection for the Cannes film festival.

8. A Tale of Two Sisters

A psychological horror drama, a tale of two sisters is inspired by a folktale. The movie had been remade into English as uninvited. The film also won best film award at Fantasporto film festival. It speaks the story of two sisters and their stepmother. The story develops through a series of twists making the watch quite interesting.

7. Busanhaeng

A 2016 movie, Train to Busan is about Zombie apocalypse. The story happens on a train which is going to Busan when a zombie breakout happens in the country. The movie was shown at 206 Cannes festival. It became quite popular and broke many records. It is one of the highest grossing Korean films.

6. Moebius

Directed by one of the finest Korean director, Kim Ki Duk, Mooebius is considered an absurd horror movie by many. It is considered to be one of the strangest movies to be ever made in Korean. Why? Well, watch and find out for yourself.

5. Thirst

Thirst is directed by Park Chan Wook. It is based on a book by Emilie Zola. The film is the story of a Priest who falls for his friend’s wife. They fall into an affair but she is yet to find the truth about him. Park Chan Wook is often considered the best horror film director of the present time and Thirst won't disappoint you.

4. Phone

Directed by Ahn Byeong-Ki and Starring: Ha-Ji-won and Kim-yoo-mi Phone is a much appreciated Korean horror movie. Investigative journalist, played by Ji-won starts to get many threatening calls on her phone. She has published recently a story on a sex scandal. Terrorised, she changes her number and flat. But yet the calls continue. Then starts a cycle of death and Ji-won is determined to put an end to it.

3. Hansel and Gretel

A mysterious house where people don't age. A salesman who meets with an accident meets one of the children in this house and gets trapped here. He is all determined to unravel the mystery surrounding the house. Hensel and Gretel is often considered as one of the best Korean horror movies to be made.

2. Spider Forest

Directed by Song Il-gon and starring Kam Woo-sung, Kang Kyeong-Heon, Spider forest is a much acclaimed Korean horror flick. Kang Min, wakes up in an isolated forest, alone. All that he can see is a Cabin where a brutal murder has happened. He also finds his girlfriend there who is stabbed, nearing her death, she murmurs something about spiders. What is she trying to say? Will he be able to escape? Watch this nerve-wracking movie to find out

1. Dead Friend

Directed by, Kim Tae-gyeong, the dead friend stars Kim Ha Neul and Nam Sang Me. Three friends, quite bored with their studies, decides to play Ouija board. One of the friends get killed by the ghost and the others start to get nightmares from the forgotten past. People connected to them are killed one after the other. What is it that the ghost wants? A well-shot movie that has an unexpected twist, ‘Dead Friend’ won’t disappoint you.
