2016 is going to be a big year for movies. We have so many animated movies, some really cool comic book movies, sequels of so many great movies and remakes of many classics. And this does has me excited. But every year there are some really good movies that don't get much popularity and hence face failure and are termed as underrated, which makes me sad. Maybe that's what happened to Steve Jobs this year or Edge of Tomorrow last year.
Here is a list of some movies that many people may not be aware of but might be game-changers in the upcoming year. Note that all animated and comic-book based movies, sequels, prequels, reboots, spin-offs and movies based on games are excluded from this list.

1. Triple 9 (Feb 19)

Directed by John Hillcoat(Lawless, The Road), this violent crime heist movie boasts an incredibly amazing ensemble cast consisting of Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Kate Winslet as well as everyone's favorite TV stars Norman Reedus and Aaron Paul. This should be enough to get moviegoers onboard and if it isn't then check out the action-packed Red Band trailer below.
Red-Band hence NSFW

2. Race (Feb 19)

Stephen Hopkins who has directed episodes of awesome TV shows like 24, Californication and Shameless, brings to us the amazing tale of Jesse Owens who overcame adversity to become a 4 time Olympic gold medalist. The movie stars Stephan James as Jesse Owens and Jason Sudeikis as his mentor and coach Larry Snyder alongwith Jeremy Irons, William Hurt and Carice Van Houten.
This will be Sudeikis' first dramatic role in a movie as a central character

3. The Founder (Nov 26)

Michael Keaton was out of the picture for quite some time. But his recent movies Birdman and Spotlight have proved that he has still got great acting chops. In 2016, he is going to take on the role of Ray Kroc, the famous businessman who partners up with the McDonald brothers to create the fast food empire now knows as McDonalds. The film will be directed by John Lee Hancock(The Blind Side, Saving Mr. Banks) and also stars Nick Offerman and John Caroll Lynch as the McDonald brothers.
Well its Michael Keaton so I'm lovin' it!

4. Hail, Caesar! (Feb 5)

When it comes to the dark comedy genre, the Coen brothers are definitely the masters. Their upcoming movie Hail, Caesar! where they explore Hollywood in the 1950s, looks both funny and thrilling. The cast include some of their all-time fine collaborators like Goerge Clooney, Tilda Swinton, Josh Brolin, Frances McDormand as well as Alden Ehrenreich, Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Scarlett Johansson and Ralph Fiennes. This one should be in everyone's watchlist.
This definitely looks classy
