The series, starring Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar, was one of the earlier successes for ALTBalaji.
Karan Khanna (Ram Kapoor) has become badder and meaner. And he’s blaming his wife, Dr. Tripurasundari Nagrajan. The public figure that he is, this attitude is becoming worse for him with some twists in his life making him all the meaner.
Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar still have a warm chemistry that makes the series quite watchable. Ram Kapoor, as the angry, middle aged actor who has seen all too much is a class act. Sakshi Tanwar gives him able support. By now, the three have the characters under their skin. The additions to the cast do a good job as well. Ram and Sakshi are one of the very few TV couples, who still hold a strong fanbase even though their show wrapped up long back in 2014. They are the perfect actors to present a mature love story.
Karishma Tanna plays the CEO of a production company. But she is mostly seen trying to sort out Karan’s messy life. While Karishma is one of the most glamorous and fit female actors we have on the small screen, she overacts in some parts. Hiten Tejwani is introduced as Sakshi’s friend Ved, who has accepted her and her daughter so that he can have a family life. He is also the public prosecutor fighting against Karan Khanna. He does his job well, as always.
The show gives a closer look at the glamour world, touching upon issues such as stalking, negative media attention and the paparazzi frenzy.
While Ram and Sakshi eventually show signs of reconciliation in the finale, the season leaves a lot of unanswered questions. One remains invested in this romantic saga with hope of witnessing their final union at last.

The Test Case was one of the most anticipated web series coming out of India. It starred legit Bollywood celebrities like Juhi Chawla, Nimrat Kaur, Rahul Dev, Atul Kulkarni and others.
Captain Shikha Sharma is in the army. She signs up to become part of the Special Forces, an elite army unit that experiences action. Of course, the country and the army are split in their decision and whether Shikha succeeds in doing what she’s planning to forms the story. The Test Case is ALTBalaji’s pride, and it’s evident in every frame.
Nimrat Kaur is excellent as Shikha Sharma, the confident soldier who’s still getting a grip on what’s going on – and how she could be part of not just the army’s but also the country’s history. And to add perspective to it, she’s surrounded by a cast that’s evolved with good performances.
What stands out in The Test Case is the way the concept is tackled and more importantly the screenplay that doesn’t celebrate its protagonist but opens her up to the audience to accept or disagree, warts and all.
The way Shikha fails at the obstacles and doesn’t complete all objectives makes the character and the series more relatable and realistic. Though the series is based in an army camp, it’s less of a lesson on army life and more of a taut thriller.
The Test Case has an interesting story that makes it an imminently watchable web series.

Bose: Dead/Alive has been adapted from writer Anuj Dhar's book titled India's Biggest Cover-up. Bose stars the highly talented Rajkummar Rao in the eponymous web series. He teams up with Hansal Mehta. There have been news reports which state that PM Jawaharlal Nehru had his spies go through all the mails of Bose’s house in Calcutta to ascertain whether he was still alive. Another rumor doing the rounds was that Bose was captured by the then USSR.Many attribute India’s freedom to Bose’s revolutionary ways. With the mystery around Netaji’s death still unsolved, any show or movie revolving around his life is bound to garner a lot of attention. ALTBalaji head – Ekta Kapoor, seems to have all the elements in place to guarantee a hit show.
The web series starts off with news of Subhash Chandra Bose’s death. The show goes back & forth between Bose’s death in the year 1945 to his college days. The show mainly revolves around the British trying to find out whether Bose died in an air crash in Japan, or whether he is still alive.
Rajkummar Rao is excellent in his role. His scenes with the British, especially the one where he slaps his professor during an exam gave us goose bumps. Rajkummar gets into the skin of his character. The people in charge of his makeup have done a good job. The script is tight & does not drag.
The show throws light on Netaji’s relationship with his caucasian wife. A amount of research done is commendable. The director has to be patted for giving us a good show & extracting fine performances. The show has an excellent Bengali rock sound track, which will haunt you. I strongly recommend you to view the first six episodes.

Dustbin reviewed CyberSquad
Cybersquad is a series about teen aged crime busters who join hands and work undercover with the cyber crime branch. It is yet another “solve the case” kind of series but stand out as no one has ever focused on the technology based teenage shows and refreshing as it gives out something new in every succession.
It all begins when a schoolgirl Payal’s facebook account gets hacked and an MMS is made out of her personal photos. Jovita Jose aka Tia who has just joined the school a few months back decides to stand against it and tries to help her out. Tia is a bold and talented hacker who uses Omkar Kulkarni aka Rocky’s computer setup which is super cool with alarms and cryptographically sophisticated security system to find the culprit.
Rohan Shah has a naughty role of a hideous guy who is a teacher’s pet on the outside but carry red horns inside. Roshan Preet’s aka Uzi adds a great deal of humor with his hormonally disbalanced personality lurking around Bianca, a bitchy character in the series and wishes to be surrounded by girls all the time. Don’t make up your mind on Uzi being a creepy guy; he has a great presence of mind which solves the cases to a great deal keeping the humor alive.
This smart bunch of school goers incidentally make a perfect team i.e Cybersquad to fight against the cyber crime when they successfully solve Payal’s case. They work undercover for Cyber cell as Inspector Bhosle asks their assistance. Although crime scene is different in every episode, the series in the background portrays the story of teenagers and their school life struggles, schedules, friendship, relationships, politics and dramas.
The series is for age group 12-18 years who have their world at fingertips. A good series to alert teenagers about misuse of internet and social media.

Dustbin reviewed Spotlight
The plot is a common one where two contemporary actresses are fighting for a big budget film of an A-list director. Both actresses play their own cards to bag the role, but the moment Priya Chopra (played by Simran) gets the firm, the other lead Sana (played by Tridha) plays the dirtiest trick. While shooting for a common film, Sana gets the hint that something is cooking between Priya and her make-up artist. Sana hires a detective to get to the truth and the detective brings her photographs of Priya making-out with her make-up artist/girlfriend! Sana releases these photographs in the media, which creates a lot of controversies.
Priya’s girlfriend is much in love with her, and since this revelation has put Priya’s career on stake, she suggests taking all the blame on herself, and asks Priya to remove her from the job and inform the same to the media. Priya is much touched by her girlfriend’s unconditional love and sacrifice.
We all know that Media and Entertainment industry is full of talented LGBTQ people, but we are still waiting for the day when this society will be more accepting, more tolerant and people would not be discriminated owing to their sexuality or gender definitions. Many people are living in the closet because there is a threat of losing professional grip. What Priya’s role has done in this web-series is inspiring, but it is still a fictional story.
Nonetheless, it is terrific to see that the content creators are not limiting themselves to gay men stories only but openly creating good lesbian themed content and representing their desires and loves in the right light.

Dustbin reviewed Gehraiyaan
Gehraiyaan though a horror story is fundamentally a love story that unfolds between 26-year-old researcher Reyna Malik, and her surgeon partner Shekhar in a Hospital in Mumbai. Reyna is now back in Mumbai after having taken a short break from work. Our heroine feels challenged to get back to the work she loves the most. Surgery. Owing to a trauma that affected her in the recent past, the hospital authorities are skeptical on allowing her to practice so early on. Gehraiyaan, directed by Sidhant Sachdev is a perfect blend of mystery, thrill, spook and fear overloaded. Sanjeeda’s character Reyna exudes fear and terror while her surgeon boyfriend is at her side to help her face the forces of the dark. The twist in the tale is the emergence of her mysterious neighbour Sahil played by Vatsal who comes to her rescue.
The show also suffers from the fact that the real horror begins only after the 4/5th episode, till then the plot lingers on the build-up story which reaches an engaging crescendo in the 6th episode.
The climax is tight and keeps one engrossed. Though, it remains a tad baffling why the good spirit did not use her powers to save lives at the church. Last but not the least, we must point out that the background score did give us the occasional goosebumps.

Dustbin reviewed Hey Prabhu!
Tarun Prabhu is a millennial social media influencer who hasn’t yet come face to face with the hardships in life. After he gets a job at a prestigious magazine, he is pulled out of his comfort zone and has to work hard to stabilize his professional life, while also handling problems in his personal life at the same time. How Tarun handles all this is what forms the rest of the series.
'Hey Prabhu' is one of the rare web series that has an intelligent script and wants to handle the protagonist’s personal as well as work life with crackling speed and laser sharp precision. The screenplay’s intelligent and weaves an entirely believable day and life of a media intern. The screenplay also portrays the gender gap between the millennials and the business owners and parents in a non-preachy manner. There are some insights, like when Tarun experiences his first social media outing the same day that his mom wants him to delete a tweet that she considers personal – because one of their distant relatives follows Tarun on the social network.
'Hey Prabhu' also winds up the personal life and the professional life of the protagonist in a believable manner. The show is cleverly written, with witty jokes and dialogues sprinkled all over. It is also a commentary on the youth’s obsession with social media, and how it all seems perfect online, but real life is a struggle for everyone.

Dustbin reviewed Thinkistan
A show based on the daily happenings of an advertising agency is not something we’ve seen in the Indian web series space before, so naturally, it’s something we’re rather curious and excited about. Plus, the interesting star cast only adds to its appeal. The series features two characters in the lead. Naveen Kasturia of Pitchers fame, essays one of the titular characters in the show, along with Shravan Reddy. Mandira Bedi, who was last seen in the film, Tashkent Files will be playing an important role in the series and the 11 episodes boast of an ensemble cast with actors like Satyadeep Misra, Vasuki, Shraddha Musale, Jayashree Venkataramanan and Anandita Bose amongst others.
Thinkistan traces the story of a small-town guy, Amit (Naveen Kasturia) who joins the agency as a Hindi copywriter and tries hard to be heard among all the English speaking people around him. On the other hand is Hema (Shravan Reddy) – an English-speaking, suave city boy who charms everyone and talks his way through all the big opportunities at work.
The core conflict in the show is the linguistic politics prevalent in the industry and the divide that comes with it, which is both stark and unfair. It explores the equation between colleagues Amit and Hema – which is tested by the dirty business of advertising.
The power of Thinkistan’s gripping narrative shines through in glorious, vivid Technicolor, like an oasis in a barren desert, beckoning viewers with its promise of storytelling nirvana. And viewers, parched for captivating content, can’t help but gravitate towards it in the hope of blessed succour.

Dustbin reviewed Aafat
Ricky and his mother are looking for the perfect bride for their family. They get in touch with a matrimonial agency and decide to meet 5 girls. All the girls are from different walks of life, but the one thing that’s common between them is they live suffocating lives because of patriarchy and societal pressure – whether subtle or unsubtle. One of them is a divorcee, another is on the healthier side, yet another doesn’t wax (that’s a new one), while someone else is looking for love somewhere else. Another one is a rebel without a pause, and an outspoken one at that – which routinely has her use cuss words.
Women empowerment related content seems to be a go-to for the filmmakers and content creators recently, but Aafat manages to be unique and stand out among them all, with its black humour. All the actors, from the five leading ladies to the supporting characters, have done an excellent job at portraying their characters. You can’t help but remember that one Agony Aunt in your life, by watching Ricky’s mother, and scoff at the arrogant and dumb Ricky, who is more beauty and less brain, a spoilt rich brat. Sidharth Bhardwaj has given life to Ricky, with his lively performance.
The different scenarios are projected in a light-hearted, non-preachy manner, and that’d have an instant connect with the audience. Stupendous performances from the cast pulls this show together. Sidharth Bharadwaj, who plays Ricky could be the cutest antagonist in the history of streaming. Aditi Manchanda, Nikita Dutta, Chitranshi Rawat, Neelam Sivia and others play their characters to the hilt. The screenplay also has several in-jokes, like a woman with a t-shirt that suggests not to over analyse life hosting an astrology show and keeps the proceedings peppers.
The best part about the series is that it throws out in the open urban patriarchy. People have a misconception that patriarchy exists either only in rural India or the middle-class in the urban crowd. However, this series proves all that wrong.
Aafat is an entertainer for everyone. Aafat is a must watch smasher.

Dustbin reviewed Twisted
Business tycoon, Ranbir Raichand’s wife is found raped and murdered in her bedroom. As the CID takes up the investigation, the businessman’s extra-marital affair with supermodel Aliya Mukherjee is put in the spotlight. While both, Ranbir and Alia deny having an association with the brutal murder, the police’s investigation reveals more devastating secrets and shocking twists that form the crux of the story.
The storyline of this series is so twisted that till the very end you would not be able to find out who is lying and who is conspiring against whom. Twisted’s screenplay boasts of tantalizing suspense and unpredictability.
The sultry and sensuous Nia Sharma’s portrayal of a character with multiple shades of grey is what adds an eerie element to the series as she plays her complex, manipulative seductress of a character to perfection. Vikram Bhatt’s writing is simply amazing and evidently original. The dexterity with which Bollywood’s veteran thriller writer tackles the premise is sure to keep you hooked with a cliff-hanger with each passing episode. While the content is bold and steamy, everything that’s shown is justified by the script and one is relieved that it just isn’t added as a gimmick to grab eyeballs.
Twisted is a mysterious and intellectual murder series. If you’re a lover of well-made thrillers that leave you in a dither when you least expect it, then Twisted should be the next in your playlist.
The tagline 'DON'T TRUST THEM' is what puts you in a fix to believe or not, whatever it showcases on your screen. It's totally worth a watch and has a big thumbs up from my side.
