The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is the story of coming of age of an introvert adolescent entering adulthood. The movie is simple yet complicated as it deals with homosexuality, drugs and death. Its not another high school drama cos the story remains realistic and never gets over the top, sappy, flashy or over-emotional.The romance is rather credibly lovely than a mainstream claptrap.Reminded me of FREAKS AND GEEKS at times. This is a movie with great script, direction, music, dialogues and power-packed performances. If not for anything watch it for Emma Watson.

You know something is right with a movie if Om Puri and Naseerudin Shah are contended with playing small roles of corrupt-cops.This Macbeth-meets-Godfather tale set in Bombay is one of my favourite mafia movies of all times. Vishal Bharadwaj is splendid at transforming classic plays in indian scenarios but Maqbool is his top form .With the greatest possible starcast –Naseerudin,Irfan,Om Puri,Pankaj Kapur, Tabu, Piyush Mishra it’s a felony to talk of acting. The movie is told from inside of a mafia-family and with in-depth characterization of every single character .Vishal plays shrewdly with viewer’s loyalty when you don’t know whom to root for, everyone justified in his own action. Although a small budget took its toll on editing, yet a perfect ending makes up for it.

The Blue Umbrella - 8.4/10
Based on Ruskin Bond's novel by the same name, it is one of the most simple yet layered movie of our times.Set up in a breathtakingly beautiful small village in Himachal Pradesh the plot revolves around fascination of its natives towards the magnificent Blue Umbrella and the greed it invokes among the simple people. At the outset its a simple story but in-depth its a tale of greed, forgiveness and materialistic desires.

The best thing about the movie is it never looses its inherent simplicity, innocence and charm.

Pankaj Kapur is one of the finest actors in the industry and this is one of his best work. Shreya as young Biniya is fabulous and all other characters fit perfectly into their roles. Music is apt and cinematography is creative as well as beautiful.Vishal Bharadwaj is a great director and this is one of his hidden gems.A movie that deserves way more appreciation and accolades.Hats off to Vishal for having the guts to make such a movie. If you love movies, watch it.

What if one day your father wakes up and claims he killed Gandhi accidently ??? A touching tale of father-daughter relationship, great acting (Anupam Kher and Urmila’s best performance) and marvelous haunting background score are movie’s strong point.A bit-preachy ending is a big letdown, the sole reason this movie is not in my favorite movie of all times.
