LucidRain reviewed Tenet
TENET
Tenet is your classic globetrotting spy film with a little more sprinkled in. It has stunning massive set Pieces, coupled with gorgeous cinematography, and funny, smart, and witty characters. It was really really fun JD Washington, Robert Pattinson, Kenneth Brangah, and Elizabeth Debicki do amazing jobs at this. But I don’t love it as much as Chris Nolan’s other films. Something that I have been afraid of and still am for Nolan’s movies is the sense of spectacle over shadowing heart and the human emotion. This film definitely has some emotion mainly in Elizabeth Debicki’s character. But I feel like there should have been some of that in JD Washington’s character. There are other small things like the inability to hear some of the characters over the loud but still amazing score by Ludwig göransson. But pleas don’t let that keep you from watching this movie it is beautiful thrilling and just a great cinematic experience to come back to the theaters.

LucidRain reviewed La Haine
LA HAINE
Wow! Just, wow! No seriously this film is great, I say that a lot but, this is thing is different. It is like nothing I've seen before, the films subject matter, plot, and characters are so well thought out, you could really tell this is a film that had a reason to be made. The performances in this are just amazing, the three main actors pull of the main characters so perfectly, the scenes where there just going back and forth arguing about whatever, are just so realistic, and believable, that goes to the writing, and again acting. The use of music in this was really really nice as well, there are some scenes where they just let the music play, and that sets or adds to the feel of the film, not to talk about that brilliant opening sequence! And also that just wonderful ending! I could go on on about this movie and I don't want this to sound overly pretentious, but yeh probably 9.8/10 or something, defiantly top 10,I love this movie.

THE SHINING
So happy I finally watched this, what an amazing film. I really can't say anything that hasn't already been said, other than that I didn't really find it scary more creepy, and errie, but still great, the performances are great, the cinematography/set design is amazing, and the whole film, and subject is soo spectacular, and sublime.

Marriage Story
Amazing and beautiful in every way. The look, the feel, the emotion, this is a great movie. It delivers the whole marriage and divorce thing in a way that doesn't feel tacky, or overused. The film looks soo gorgeous in almost every frame. The acting here is just as brilliant Adam Driver, and Scarlet Johansson being the highlights of the movie, those one on one scenes were just amazing. What else can you say about this movie than amazing? Nothing.

Johnny English Strikes Again
I mean, it was okay, some laughs here and there, but overall I felt like the movie was trying too hard to be funny, some jokes just felt uncomfortably cringey rather than funny. I sort of see the whole James bond meets comedy type thing they were going for but I just don't think that worked. The acting was pretty good, nothing amazing really ,Rowan Atkinson as Johnny English was defiantly the highlight of the film. (I know I haven't watched the prier films so that obviously contributed.)

LucidRain reviewed Spectre
SPECTRE
I really thought that this was going to be bad but I actually enjoyed this, people be giving this 2, and 1.5, what? This is great, it is't as great as CASINO ROYAL, or SKYFALL, but still great fun. Set peaces, thrilling action, classic score, and James Bond charm are all there. But this film dose have some issues. First the I felt like it was a first draft script, or it was just rushed and several things went wrong, but to me the pacing wasn't the best. But probably my biggest problem is the characters, especially Léa Seydoux character, who (when introduced) was shaping up to be a great character for me. But then the third act came along, and she had barley any dialogue, and became the damsel in distress. It's quite sad as the characters could have been more than just that and because Léa Seydoux is a great actress, but who am I kidding, it's a James Bond flick!
