Metro Park is an absolute hilarious take on the lives of NRIs living abroad. It revolves around Kalpesh Patel' s family residing in New Jersey, USA with all its imperfections, cons and above all eccentricities. Kalpesh Patel lives up to the stereotyped gujju living in USA who has a knack for business and believes in deploying different methods to fetch in good amount of money. This sort of leads the viewers to believe that Gujratis are always driven by economical needs and nothing else. The series focuses on all the lives associated to Kalpesh and brings in a lot of entertainment and light hearted comedy. His kids have little to no regards to their culture but try to follow it whenever the situation demands it. Kalpesh's wife's accent is somewhat irritating and again stereotypical which makes me wonder if the show will ever go beyond it's usual stereotypical portrayals or not. What makes this show endearing even though it's strongly embedded in the stereotypical portrayal of gujjus is the element of rootedness and nostalgia. The love for one's culture and how sometimes even being miles away from your country you lose yourself in moments of vulnerability wherein you are instant reminded of this tiny things that made you happy back in the days when you were still residing in your country. It's a fun watch. You can easily stream it on Eros Now and enjoy it. People who love to watch family dramas and enjoy unconventional plot might enjoy it!

Not your H1N1 Virus!
Okaay, so am really confused on how I am supposed to pen down my thoughts for this particular web series.Influenzaa is a parody of what all the influencers depict vs do in real life and reel life. It started off on a promising note and I have to say that I loved Ankush Bahuguna. His sexual innuendos were so well timed it didn't even feel like he was making extra efforts to make the viewers have a good laugh. I found the but with the fitness guru guy a little bit problematic.
He tried to portray the actual routine but it was downright boring and unfunny. I love Dolly's videos on instagram because of her use of witty humour. It's funny , well timed and tickles the right bones. I was particularly unhappy with her portrayal of an influencer because it was way more goofy than I expected it to be wherein it
failed to accommodate within the genre of satire. MensXP has only released one episode so it's a bit difficult to draw a conclusion. Nonetheless, I am hoping for more content and let's see where it goes. It's easily available on YouTube under the banner of MensXP.

Cutting Pyaar is a web original produced by Zoomstudios. The stories in cutting pyaar revolve around love and how different people view love and relationships. The name is quite unique but the show fails to live up to the uniqueness of it's name. It tries to "cut" across different dimensions of love by bringing forth love stories from various backgrounds. The content seems to be oozing refreshing vibes but as soon as you realise that you have been through half the episode already, you are hit with a sense of disappointment since it barely sticks to a continuous framework. The makers intended to play with a lot of elements which actually backfires and leaves the viewers gasping for air because of suffocation. The stories even though common could have been much more beautiful if it were backed by a strong screenplay. Nonetheless, it was a decent watch. People who are into romantic dramas can try to give it a shot. It's easily available on YouTube.

Baap sahi main Baap Hota Hai!
Baap Baap Hota Hai from the house of TSP is an absolute gem. The actor who plays the dad is downright amazing. His dialogue delivery, tiny movements , obsession with his prized alcohol are a few quirks of his character. Abhi is an average guy with average aspirations in his life. All the episodes revolve around how Abhi tries his best to outsmart his dad and do his own thing but ulitimately he realises that he can never really overcome his dad and no matter what he does or how he does it, his dad will always be two steps ahead of him. It's funny and hilarious and depicts the father-son relationship in a very beautiful manner. It never comes across as derogatory even though some situations did employ the use of strong language. It's short, crisp and last but not the least "Baap Baap Hota Hai", so guys, think thousand times before you wish to make a fool of your parents kya pata, the reverse might happen to you XD

FilterCopy Talkies from the house of FilterCopy is an unique take on life and relationships. The episodes are starkly different from one another and mostly involve stories from close to real-life experiences. It draws heavily from generation gap, relationships, bittersweet moments in life, friendship, dating, breakup and so on and so forth. The actors in each of the episode are an exact fit to the role. The plots are not lengthy or exhausting. One can relate to the stories in the series and might also feel drawn to the characters. The Last Conversation with Dad and Jaha Dil le Chale were quite different yet so relatable. It spoke so much about life and it's tiniest moments ranging from moments of joy to moments of regret. It's slow paced but once you are into the story the journey becomes yours too. People who love watching new genres or experimenting will love watching it for sure. It's easily available on youtube.

Dishaheen Navyuva Helpline is a pretty peculiar show backed with fresh content. Dishaheen Navyuva Helpline is run by Disha, jagdish and Dadi who offer strange and quirky solutions to the youngster's problems. Millenials often have to deal with an existential crisis of their own and in times like these, Dishaheen Navyuva comes to rescue by providing you with a bit of unrealistic but effective solutions. All the episodes even through different tend to become more categorical as simple counselling sessions and quick fix in addition to promoting HDFC'S mutual investment plans. Daadi is absolutely lovely. She is a kid at heart and more energetic and active than her bahu- Disha. Jagdish is a low-lying man who can be seen being sandwiched between his mom and wife but nevertheless, it stays unique for it's content and it's a genuine effort which is much appreciated. Produced by HDFC , it's easily available on youtube.

Far from being Real!
I cannot even begin to say how much I am annoyed with the word "Reunion" since it has acquired a more nuanced understanding in the recent times, and one being that of an extremely overused "plot-device". The Reunion lives upto it's name and hypes it up even more by adding the unnecessary "PROM" in the end. It basically revolves around the lives of four friends - Aarya, Deva, Dev and Gaurav who have long passed out from their maiden school "The Bourbon High". One day they all receive an unexpected invitation from their past asking them to come together to relive their highschool and all the memories associated with it. Estranged best friends meet, new relationships are formed, new truths are revealed on the way but what is absolutely dangerous is the fact that this show provides redemption and closure to bullies like Aarya and Deva in the name of "arey yaar hum toh bacche the, we were stupid" while being confonted about their acts. Honestly, that was really cringy and perplexing. Aarya's acting was superficial. Deva's and Aarya's lack of emotional understanding of Bhavna's situation is clearly a character fault. In total, it was a decent watch which tried to cater to the taste of the young adults today. The reunions was far from being realistic. It'a available on youtube.

You are Hired! Not.
Phas Gaye Yaar! is an Indian original webseries from the house of MensXP. It's in episodic form and it discusses the dimensions of different professions in the form of never ending rants. All the episodes open with different professions and people that you may encounter in different walks of life. But the common link between all these people belonging to different profession is their absolute frustration and bitterment at their present conditions. None of them seem to be happy with their jobs and they engage in rants which also brings forth the realities of jobs which appear to be all glittery. If you look at it, "ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD", sort of stands true in their situations. They all work in high-paying sectors but at the end of the day , they are bitter, irritated, annoyed and frustrated. It's a light-hearted comic satire masked in form of comedy. In conclusion, it's a fun watch and you can find the episodes on Youtube.

Goa Plan Cancel!
Okay, so am a sucker for cliches so when zoom dropped the trailer for The Holiday I was immediately hooked to it and made up my mind to watch it. The Holiday revolves around the lives of four elite friends who take a trip to Mauritius to celebrate Mehak's bachelorette. Armaan, Kabir and Patrick are dimensionally poles apart in personalities but what brings all of them together is their age-old friendship. The first episode opens with Mehak having a gala dinner with Kabir and Patrick when she gets to know that her fiancee will be celebrating his bachelorette. Patrick becomes excited at once and suggestes her fiancee a few places when he denies inviting anyone he is not that "good friends" with so Patrick decides to throw a bachelorette for Mehak and Kabir agrees to it. Patrick books a place grand suite in Mauritius to kickstart the holiday. At the airport, Kabir who happens to be a pilot in the present joins them and is met with the usual "kaafi busy kaafi bade log" waale lines from his friends. Nevertheless, The Holiday is going to be one memorable ride for me, since am already invested in it. With the exotic locations and three good looking guys, I doubt I would want more xD.
You can easily watch it on youtube to remind yourself of your failed GOA HOLIDAY with your friends. XD

KAAFI DOSTI KAAFI YAARI!
Dil Dosti Daftaar is the first ever web original from the house of Imperials Blue Men. It revolves around the lives of three office colleagues- Dheerendra, Rakesh and Kabir who are working in a Multinational Company and their quest to land a "promotion". It's an eight episode mini-series which depicts the lives and friendship of these three men in a single day. Dheerendra is a smart guy who knows how to navigate, Rakesh is a loud-mouth who is willing to do anything but work, Kabir is the "ladies man" who has his own ways and tricks to finding a way to a woman's heart. All the eight episodes are extremely funny and hilarious. Their different ways of wooing Mr. Woo who would actually act as a catalyst for them to get a raise in their salaries takes the secondary stage whereas the primary plot revolves around the bonding between these three men. The conditions in which they work are certainly stressful and the show doesn't fail to show that, but even between these stressful moments these three friends steal some time to DO THEIR OWN "YAARI". And am not even disappointed with the name of the show since it explores Dosti, Daftaar and Dil all at the same time. It's available on Youtube.
