This Hansal Mehta directed movie is worth a watch. A biopic of Shahid Azmi, an advocate who was famous for representing people falsely accused in anti-state cases, especially Muslims. Shahd gets killed, the murder is still unsolved. Rajkumar Yadav did a brilliant role as Shahid. And Hansal Mehta also did an exceptional job by keeping away obvious Bollywood dramas from this movie. The film neither tries to romanticise Azmi’s life nor tries to demonize him. It tries to show us a perspective though. Shahid is about courtrooms wherein life and death decisions are made. And Shahid also becomes the reflection of the country in itself.

In the mood for love isn’t a cinema, but poetry- soothing, slow and peaceful. This is one sad story of love, life, and loneliness. What makes this movie special is perhaps its universality. You be in New York or Kerala or South Africa, you can perhaps relate to this movie. The story speaks about two neighbors living in the same building who comes to realize their respective spouses are having an affair. They start to develop a love for each other too, in the most subtle way possible. A romance that is borne out of shared betrayal. The Cinematography is spectacular, filled with a mood for love.

Directed by Wong Kar Wai, My Blueberry Nights is perhaps one of those films which lack the Wong Kar Wai signature. A good one time watch, the movie isn’t spectacular like the directors' other ones. The movie is Elizabeth’s story, who after a heartbreak is n pursuit of her own self. The movie is romantic, but not romantic enough. I feel one problem that might have resulted in this is the fact that Wong Kar Wai tried to translate his style for a New York audience and obviously the essence got lost in translation. The thread was too simple, the movie too long.

One of my all-time favorite movies, 12 angry men is a courtroom drama. A 16-year-old boy is accused of killing his father. What will be his fate on the court? Well, watch the movie to find out. The concept is sharp, the casting is perfect and the movie is a no-nonsense experience. The peculiarity is that it isn’t just the courtroom being shown but behind the courtroom discussions. The viewers are witnessing the whole thing and the movie pushes the viewers into moral conflict. The plot is brilliant and this is why without extensive scenery and many characters the film remains a memorable experience.

Anamika S reviewed Antaheen
Antaheen is a movie tightly packed with emotions. It simultaneously speaks the stories of relationship across generations. The story is clichéd I agree, however, the movie can’t be evaluated just on the basis of a story for each story could be told in lot many ways. That’s what the director had done here. He took an age-old clichéd story and created magic with it. Cinematography and music are two strong points of antaheen, which actually gave life to the whole plot. Performance of Rahul Bose, Sen is average. But what is nice about the movie is perhaps the feel it gives to the audience.

The movie speaks about the youth of North Madras, how [politics affect them, their lives. As the director, Pa Ranjith himself says “it’s a mainstream movie which has documented the vibrant life of the oppressed”. Listen to the words he uses. It is indeed a documentation and that might be the reason why this movie breaks many dominant Tamilian stereotypes seen in the other films. The film shows North Chennai in its actuality. Each of the characters has a major and memorable role to play except maybe for the lead Karthi. An inanimate thing like a wall leads the story making many life-changing decisions in people’s life.
