Jack and Roxy face some sobering truths about their parenting skills following Amy's accident, while Ben fears he might be sent back to prison. Tanya receives heartbreaking news on a visit to the oncology ward, Whitney nervously prepares for an important interview, and Rose upsets Dot by taking over the church social

Ben is full of remorse following the incident with Amy - but turns the situation into an excuse to spend time alone with Christian. Phil clashes with Michael and Janine when they try to evict Roxy, Amira continues to manipulate Syed and strikes a deal with Yusef, and Mandy discovers the ring Ian bought her is a lot less valuable than he claimed

Ben is furious at being rejected by Christian, and decides to get revenge by telling Yusef a horrifying lie about what happened the previous night. Ian is stunned when a familiar face reappears in the Square, Janine's taunting of Roxy makes Michael uncomfortable, and Jodie's guilt grows as Poppy talks about how much she likes Anthony

Phil angrily confronts Christian, and their argument soon takes a violent turn. As accusations fly, Roxy urges Ben to tell the truth before any more damage is done. Jane chastises Ian for neglecting Bobby and gets reacquainted with Masood, while Yusef persuades Zainab to let him spend the night with her

Masood heads to see Zainab at home, but is disgusted to find Yusef with her. Kat feels guilty when Alfie celebrates their relationship, and Janine overhears news that could give her the upper hand over Shirley. Syed refuses to change his plans and Jodie is forced to tell Poppy the truth

Phil becomes agitated when he receives more mysterious photos, but cannot work out who has sent them - or who the person in the pictures is supposed to be. Tyler tries to reunite Jodie and Poppy, while Tamwar and Afia express their concerns about Yusef and Zainab's plans

Kat cannot stop thinking about her one-night stand and decides the time has come to tell Alfie the truth. Phil is convinced Janine is his tormentor, but she appears to know less than he does - and their confrontation prompts her to ask Pat some searching questions. Meanwhile, the Moon brothers come up with a new scam, Jane catches up with Tanya, and the Rev Stevens invites Rose and Dot to an official function

Janine is stunned when Pat tells her about Frank's role in the fire at the car lot, and becomes upset as she recalls her parents' troubled marriage. Meanwhile, Phil confesses his part in the incident to Rainie - and as they talk, the old chemistry between them starts to re-emerge. At the Vic, Tanya decides to let her hair down, but her fellow customers start to worry as her behaviour gets increasingly out of control

Tanya struggles to remain on top of things as she tries to keep her home running smoothly - but finally loses her cool when she finds Shirley threatening Rainie. Kat shares her concerns about Alfie with Kim, Dot and the Rev Stevens are stunned to discover who Rose spent the night with, and Billy tries to set Lola straight when he learns she has been skipping lessons at school

Jack is furious when Abi lets Roxy spend time with Amy, but his heated mood turns to concern as she tearfully reveals her fears about Tanya. However, her mother reacts angrily at his attempt to try to discuss what happened - and reaches a momentous decision. Lola tells Billy she is pregnant, prompting him to accuse Tyler of being the father, while Jean receives an unexpected bit of good luck and Carol tries to make peace between Dot and Rose

Tanya unleashes a torrent of abuse on her relatives when they try to discuss her recent behaviour - but is interrupted by an unexpected visitor. Meanwhile, Lauren visits the hospital, where she discovers her mother has been missing appointments. Dot claims not to know who Rose really is, and Abi suspects Jay is the father of Lola's baby

Max tries to get to the bottom of Tanya's problems, but only makes her more agitated - and she finally snaps when Lauren interrogates her about the missed hospital appointments. Meanwhile, Max's brother Derek sets about making his presence felt in Walford, but both Pat and Carol are far from pleased to see him. Jamie Foreman (Layer Cake) joins the cast

Max is faced with a difficult decision after Lauren tells him the truth about Tanya's illness - but there are still more shocks in store for the Brannings and the Crosses. Meanwhile, Derek visits some more old acquaintances

Rainie cannot contain her hatred following Tanya's revelation about their father, and tells her sister she wants her to die. Pat talks to Roxy about Derek's violent past, while Lola is nowhere to be found when the social worker calls - so Billy risks everything by asking Abi to take her place.

Phil receives a series of ominous text messages, and Shirley is certain Rainie is responsible. Roxy and Jack prepare for a custody hearing, Masood and Zainab discuss their divorce, and Yusef tries to talk Amira into moving to Pakistan with Yasmin - hoping that if she agrees to go, then Zainab will follow

Zainab feels humiliated after news spreads about Masood's night with Jane, and tells Yusef she will go to Pakistan with him - but receives a shock when he proposes to her. However, she begins to have second thoughts when Tamwar expresses his disgust. Phil becomes certain Jack is his tormentor and ransacks his flat in search of the missing file, while Derek offers Alfie some work selling fridges

Yusef celebrates his birthday, but the day turns sour when his cousin Tariq confronts him about his engagement - so the doctor tries to buy his silence by offering him control of the Argee Bhajee. Derek brags to Janine about how he used to bully Michael, Alfie enlists Tyler and Anthony's help to sell the fridges, and Syed is in a foul mood following a meeting at the bank

Kat heads off for a girls' night out at R&R after growing increasingly disillusioned with her relationship - but is unsure what to do when she finds herself in a stranger's flat. Afia considers confronting Yusef, Max tells Jane about Tanya's illness, and Alfie switches on the Vic's Christmas lights

Afia warns Yusef to leave London - but instead he breaks down and tells Zainab he started the fire that nearly killed her in Pakistan. The police raid Phil's properties, leaving Derek and Anthony worried their illicit goods may be discovered, while Alfie refuses to discuss Kat's night out and Janine argues with Michael about money

Phil's plans to lure his tormentor out into the open are repeatedly thwarted, until he finally gets information about who it might be - but when a confrontation takes place, his rage has terrifying consequences. Zainab nervously prepares to marry Yusef, who tries to keep her away from anyone who might change her mind, while Derek's callous behaviour leads Rainie to realise how much she has hurt Tanya

Billy fears Lola may have lost her baby, but Phil is more concerned about the missing file - though Shirley warns him the last thing he needs is to be charged with assault. Carol agrees to let Derek stay with her, not realising the effect this will have on Pat, while a tarot card reading has intriguing results for Jean and Kim

Shirley throws a Christmas party, hoping the occasion will reveal Phil's tormentor. Her plan initially seems set to fail, as Derek, Jack and Ian quickly see through it - but she then discovers an unlikely suspect. Jean believes she has a new admirer, only to receive a shock when he reveals his true identity, while Tanya worries about how much effort Max is putting into the Christmas decorations

Ricky returns to Albert Square, and his family hopes he will be able to help Pat with the money he earned in Dubai - but it quickly becomes clear something has gone wrong. Shirley accuses Heather of sending the letters, though Phil soon starts to suspect Jack instead. Mo pleads with Jean not to reveal her secret and Lauren loses her temper with Whitney

Bianca is delighted to receive a visit from Ricky, but her joy turns to anger when he reveals their house is at risk. However, his spirits are lifted when he bumps into Mandy, and the pair spend the afternoon reminiscing. Meanwhile, the rift between the Brannings and Mitchells deepens after Jack prevents Roxy from seeing Amy, and Fat Boy gives Whitney a present - only to end up offending her

Zainab lashes out at Yusef after he insults Kamil, but he responds by slapping her - and when he coldly warns her worse may be to come, she decides to run away. Pat hopes a day out at the seaside will cheer her family up, though Ricky has other problems on his mind, while Jane and Ian both make surprising announcements
