With the influx of different Internet video on demand services, Amazon Prime Video has arguably created a top spot for itself. Along with a vast range of movies, TV shows and documentaries, it also offers an exciting and creative platform for a number of original web shows and comedy specials.
If you are looking for a show that'll engage you, entertain you or even distract you from the fact that there will be no Game Of Thrones this year, wait no more.
Here are the top 5 original shows on Amazon Prime Video that you MUST binge on right now:

1. The Man in the High Castle

Ever wondered what would have happened if the Axis Powers had won World War II? What if the first atomic bomb was dropped by the Germans on American land? How would the world look like then?
Well, this dystopian drama thriller not only answers those questions, but also raises a few of its own. This show is based on the 1962 novel 'The Man In The High Castle' by Philip K. Dick.
In its alternate universe, a San Francisco resident Juliana Crain gets involved with a not-so-secret revolution against the Nazis and The Japanese Empire, who now control a mutilated map of the United States of America. Along with her, we are introduced to a slew of other players in this game like a flawed yet empathetic SS Obergruppenführer John Smith and a ruthless and strong willed head of the Kempeitai, Chief Inspector Kido.
Filled with beautiful cinematography and set design, this show looks so authentic that it may even terrorise you with the thought that one wrong decision could have made THAT our reality today. This show makes sure that its imaginative and mostly unrelatable world doesn't bore us or drown us into its jargon. Rather, it leaves us with hopeful sighs and a whole lot of entertainment.
Created by Frank Spotnitz, this show is one of the most watched original shows by Amazon. It has garnered a lot of critical aclaim too. A third season is scheduled to be released in 2018. So if you want to be awed by an amazing story-driven sci-fi show that will get you hooked within the first 15 minutes, sit down and enjoy the two season old dystopian world of The Man in the High Castle , now!

2. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Brought up in a Jewish family, this show follows the life of a high-spirited Mirian "Midge" Maisel who cracks jokes and survives being a woman in 1958 New York City, all while her marriage and family is falling apart.
She not only picks up herself from the dusts of a patriarchal society that strictly defines the boundaries of an upper middle class married woman but she also comes out of the other way as a star of stand-up comedy with tons of laugh to share.
Midge's friendship with the pub employee, Susie, is another highlight of this show. Their characters, though poles apart in the beginning, start to develop a special bond as the series progresses. A smart ensemble cast including Rachel Brosnahan and Alex Borstein make each and every character a viewer's delight.
Brainchild of Amy Sherman-Palladino, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is undoubtedly a comedy gem with bits of drama and brilliant story telling.
The comedic timing is impeccable in the show and after the number of awards it swept away in the award season (including a Golden Globe for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy); you should definitely binge-watch the first season on Amazon Prime Video.

3. Sneaky Pete

David Shore (creator of House) and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Malcolm in the Middle), each have made a name for himself in the show business. Now they have come together to create an engaging crime drama Sneaky Pete . Starring Giovanni Ribisi in the role of a con artist Marius, this show is another Amazon original gem of a show.
Fresh out of prison, Marius finds himself in a complicated and compromised situation when he is chased by a ruthless gangster (played by Cranston) he once robbed. With the imminent danger of getting killed by Vince (Cranston), Marius' first con job after prison is assuming the identity of a cellmate, Pete, who is still stuck in prison.
He reunites with "his" estranged eccentric family who welcome him with old memories, open arms no suspicion. This show is clever and more than often full of humour. It keeps you wondering about what happens next. The integral family drama is pure entertainment. The cast includes names like Margo Martindale and Shane McRae.
All ten episodes of the first season are available of Amazon Prime Video and the second season has a release date of March 9, 2018. So what are you waiting for? Go catch up on this exciting original show!

4. Transparent

If you have followed the Golden Globes or the Emmys for the last few years, I'm sure you have heard this show get nominated a few couple of times and even win in some categories. The first season premiering on September 2014, Transparent is now one of the most successful original shows on Amazon.
The story revolves around a family living in Los Angeles and their everyday lives after knowing that their father (played by Jeffery Tambor) has come out as a transgender woman. The Pfeffermans siblings have always been close and though their parents are divorced, the family still makes time for each other. So even after the revelation, the family tries its best to accept Maura Pfefferman (previously Morton Pfefferman) for who she is.
This show dives deep into their lives and a lot of skeletons come out of each of their closets that make for entertaining family drama. It explores a person's identity and talks about self acceptance. Love and the need to be loved are the two important themes of this show. The characters are flawed and relatable, some being selfish, some being rude and some being absolutely clueless about life even in their thirties.
With everything wrong going on in the world - a new trend for taking offence or hating people for being different, a show like Transparent is like a breathe of a much needed fresh air.
Amazon has renewed it for a fifth season but you can watch the previous four any time on Amazon Prime Video.

5. Mozart in the Jungle

If you are a classical music fan, I'm sure the name Mozart sounds very familiar to you. For any clarification, I am talking about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the greatest composers of all time. So, as the title suggests, this show is primarily about music and musicians.
The first season premiering on December 2014, Mozart in the Jungle has created quite a buzz for itself. Inspired by oboist Blair Tindall's 2005 memoir Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs, and Classical Music, this story is told through the life of an oboist Hailey Rutledge after she gets to be a part of the New York Symphony, her dream orchestra.
As a slightly whimsical conductor of the orchestra, Rodrigo De Souza is played by Gael Garcia Bernal splendidly. His taking over as the conductor of the Symphony stirs up some drama in the initial episodes. By the end of season one, we are well aware about the miscellaneous characters played by an amazing ensemble cast.
This show doesn't question your knowledge about music or drag you into any musical argot. The story is engaging enough for you to stay hooked even if you have never heard a minute of classical symphony.
The script is quirky and the dialogues are easy to follow. What it does best is create a bond between us, the viewers, and the characters on screen by making them go through everyday emotions like ambition, envy and bliss. The music of course is an added bonus!
