Do Not expect Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives here, okay? Take a look at some of the most underrated web series available on YouTube that are just worth- and literally worth your time.

The Caravan Chronicles

Right from the trailer that featured Divina Bajpai’s I Want To, The Caravan Chronicles had put me in a trance. For people who have just started out in terms of videography and production, the entire team has done a fab job in making the series which can truly be an escape for some from their hectic life just by watching it. Putting the popular idea of the journey being the destination into practice, Ankita Kumar and Sharana Iyer venture out in a Luna in the marvellous state of Sikkim and completely give us the feeling of Zindagi Jeeni Hai, Guzarni Nahi
Caravanning the way through life

Love vs Food

If you’re like me who loves watching their favourite stars banter cutely and entertain us with their silly arguments (and who also savours each and every sight of food), this Gobble web series should be on your watchlist. Lockdown has surely brought out the inner chefs of the majority, and what's better than watching some of YouTube’s leading stars challenge each other a “cook-off. Love vs Food has featured Ahsaas Channa and her mom Kulbir Kaur, Veer Rajwant Singh and his onscreen mom-in-law Deepika Amin, real-life couple Kriti Vij and Pranay Manchanda and many more. This is my favourite got-to channel to have some new recipes to try and watch the digital actors engage in friendly fights, and I am pretty sure nobody can resist their cute, adorable battles while watching some mouth-watering dishes.

Kahi Suni

I remember as a kid being totally fascinated by this show when it aired on television- hosted by Sara Khan, Kahi Suni is a web series that explores India’s myths and legends about everything- from religion to history to culture to traditions. The blind faith that people have in their Gods might be considered juvenile and silly by today’s world, but the origin and essence of the devotion towards the prevailing customs, stories and ideas are something that will fascinate you to its very core. With amazing cinematography, script and the beauty of the people in being loyal to their faith will completely keep you hooked to the show.

Homecoming

This was the very first travel vlog I ever watched, and I am gonna be honest- the sole reason was Ayush Mehra and Aisha Ahmed. But they weren’t the only reason that kept me tuned to the web series- the amazing videography, the endearing banters, the informative voice-overs and the focus on local people and cuisine- all in all, World Of MG: Homecoming served as the perfect beginning for me to be interested in travel blogs. This web series explores the beautiful parts of our incredible India and celebrates the diversity, ethnicity and culture of our country. Ayush and Aisha do a fabulous job in hosting the series, and the writers too should be largely credited for providing tons of information in an engaging way. But according to me, the direction and filming of the breathtaking locations was mesmerizing and surely deserves hats off.

Love Travel Repeat

I have always been a stan of marriages of my favourite stars, and Kriti Vij and Pranay Manchanda occupy the top spot. And what's better than watching the adorable couple travel from Pune to Bengaluru and try local street foods, cuisines and food? Well, except the fact that the mouth-watering dishes would be churning your guts. In this five-episode web series, watch the duo travel, learn and teach us about the cordon blue of the streets and roads of India, and trust me- except the occasional urge to have what they’re eating- you will love the show.

Ekaant

If you are a fan of History18 and extremely interested in cool, abandoned, spooky places- then Ekaant nt is a perfect show to watch your own Indian version of deserted locations. Hosted and narrated by Akul Tripathi, this Epic show has explored the remains of Unakoti, Hampi, Ross Island and many more. In the silence and solace of these abandoned monuments, you can experience the epic history the walls have seen though interviews of local people and the intriguing things they and Akul tell us.

So You Think You Can

In this web series of making weird, somewhat delicious food items you can watch actors like Ayush Mehra, Viraj Ghelani, Madhu Gudi Anirudd Banerjee and many more- try new recipes, make anything from leftovers, etc. Totally unscripted and depending purely on the stars’ humour, So You Think You Can has some good laughs on your way and some innovative ideas in the kitchen.
