10 Movies To Look Forward To In Year 2017

A Death in the Gunj – This movie is award winning actress Konkana Sensharma’s directorial debut. The film’s world premiere took place at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2016. The movie starring Vikrant Massey, Ranvir Shorey and Kalki Koechlin is set to release in Indian theatres this January 13.

OK Jaanu – This movie is a remake of Mani Ratnam’s O Kadhal Kanmani. The movie, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, has already been in the news for its music which has been composed by AR Rahman. Directed by Shaad Ali,the movie is set to release this January 13.

Fifty Shades Darker – The sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, this film is based on a book of the same name. The movie is directed by James Foley and the cast consists of Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan in the lead. The movie is scheduled for release this February.

Logan – The tenth instalment of the X-men series, Logan is the third Wolverine film in the franchise, the previous one being The Wolverine. The movie follows the story of Wolverine in a post apocalyptic world. Directed by James Mangold and starring Hugh Jackman, the Marvel Entertainment production shall release in March, 2017.

Beauty and the Beast – This live action adaptation of the 1994 animated movie of the same name has Disney fans on edge. Ever since Emma Watson announced, in 2015, that she would be playing the role of Belle, Disney fans have been eagerly waiting for the release of the movie and the wait shall be over this year. Directed by Bill Condon, this Walt Disney Pictures production is set to release this March.

Baahubali: The Conclusion – The movie, directed by S S Rajamouli, is a sequel to a film of the same name. The cast consists of Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Rana Daggubati in lead roles. The historical epic fictional film is expected to release in April this year.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – This movie is the fifth instalment to the Pirates of the Caribbean Movies. The previous instalment released in 2011 and fans have been waiting 6 years for their next fix of Captain Jack Sparrow’s eccentricities. The movie which was set to release in 2015 but was delayed due to scripting and budgeting issues is expected to release this May.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – The second instalment of the Marvel movie of the same name, this film is the fifteenth movie in the marvel universe and is based on a Marvel superhero group of the same name. Directed by James Gunn and produced by Marvel Studios, the movie is expected to release this May.

Justice League – This DC movie is based on the DC comics’ superhero team of the same name consisting of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg. Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot and Ezra Miller, the movie is directed by Zack Snyder. It is set to release in November, 2017.

Star Wars: Episode VIII – The ninth Star Wars movie and the second instalment to the second sequel series, Episode VIII continues where The Force Awakens left off. A Lucasfilm Ltd. film, it was directed by Rian Johnson. The movie is expected to release in December this year.
