Very Entertaining
The comedy in this one is just fantastic. Loved the smaller scale to the story, and Tom Holland was great. As my son said, "Michael Keaton came to work." He's come full circle from Batman to Birdman to Vulture. One of the best villains in years.

This Homecoming is a bit Lame!
After a disastrous Amazing Spiderman 2
(A movie which I personally liked for some odd reason), SONY had an uphill battle to re-introduce Spiderman. They did so with the help of MARVEL and integrating him into the MCU.

Did they succeed fully? Is Spiderman redeemed?

Well. Not entirely.
Tom Holland playing Peter Parker does a great job of showing the difficulty of being a teenage superhero. Only issue is, like it or not, Toby McGuire did it better in Spiderman 1 and 2.
Even if I stop with the comparisons, this Peter Parker hardly has any human connection other than his one best friend. MARVEL promised this to be a part 80’s John Hughes film and Part action blockbuster. They tried to adhere to that, but didn’t fully commit. Unlike John Hughes films, the principal cast doesn’t come together towards the end, nor does Parker have 1 single moment or scene with his lady love or with his aunt. Everything is shown as background noise and everything which made him relatable is now pushed to the background to make way for TONY Stark and his IRON man.

Coming to the big selling point of the film, IRON Man. I didn’t expect him to be in the film much and he isn’t, but instead we are stuck with John Favraeu. The director of Iron man 1 and 2 and the actor who plays Happy Hogan. Who is given WAY TOO much screen time. He starts to get on the nerves.
Coming to the villain. The casting of former Batman Micheal Keaton was a good move, he can be menacing and deadly, but that part hardly comes out, he is portrayed as one more victim of the Avenger’s Fallout, trying to make a living, HARDLY that villainous. More like desperate. Heck none of the villains felt evil, maybe that was the point, but at least they could have been menacing!
The direction of this movie is VERY by the books, with sort of new comer John Watts not really managing the same flair which Sam Raimi had. This film looks like it was made for teenagers and made BY A teenage. But there are SO MANY made for Kids films which are and should be good given the budget and creative team behind the film.
The score itself is fine, it’s more like a rehash of older Spiderman themes and nothing as iconic as the original theme.

My biggest issue with the film and its marketing is, (SPOILERS AHEAD- SORT OF) They showed EVERY SINGLE dramatic beat of the film in the trailers. EVERY scene was spoilt and there is NOTHING to surprise you except a small twist in the end. Not to mention, coming to the story itself, BOTH the major disasters in the film is caused by Spiderman himself and not the villains. Which is SORT of appropriate as he is trying to be like IRON Man (who got entire SOKOVIA sort of killed/Destroyed). But seriously, Spiderman actually makes things worse at every point and doesn’t even manage to fix it as such.

Rating: 6/10. A good one time watch for Spiderman / MCU fans. For NON MARVEL, only Spiderman fans, this might be a bit disappointing. Depends on your age and taste really. This film is NOT meant for everyone. It’s no IRON Man 1 which any age group can enjoy.

P.s: I KNOW the poster looks like it’s something FAN made and done in great hurry. BUT this is the REAL poster of the film. Sort of rounds off the issues with the film itself… too many characters, nothing falls together organically, the story goes sort of nowhere and it’s all messy!

Great
Tom Holland is hands down the best Spider-Man and Spider-Man homecoming is easily one of the best Spider-Man films. If your looking for a fun, entertaining action film than homecoming is for you. Tom Holland absolutely shines in the lead role and he is so charming and likeable its impossible not to fall in love with him, Michael Keaton is perfect as the vulture one of my personal favourite MCU villains. This is a fantastic film and a very easy one to re watch.

I can watch all the MCU films again and again but I will watch Homecoming only if someone held a gun to my head. The writers tried to make the film as much as high school as they could. But they failed with comedy, they failed with action, they failed with the screenplay.

Acting: Tom Holland did a decent job with his role of spiderman although he was not a good Peter Parker.

Direction: Direction was good.
Screenplay: Not good with the comedy.
Final verdict: I didn't like it. I would have watched Ironman again in that time.

Spider-Man Homecoming is a film directed by Jon Watts. Finally, I got to see my favorite superhero in the MCU. I was hoping for that secretly in my mind after the disastrous Amazing Spider Man 2. And yes, I was very much satisfied with this version of the Spiderman.

Plot: Peter Parker tries to balance out high school and his wants to be a part of the Avengers.

Story and direction: Going into this film I knew that nothing could be the Sam Raimi trilogy. I mean I keep that at my top favorite super hero films. But I had some expectations and it had been fulfilled to the most. But people do have to keep in mind certain things that have occurred in the previous films, because these are all connected. Many people have said this film to not show Uncle Ben and Peter being bit by a web. We have already seen that in 2 versions. If this film would have shown that too, I would have thought that "Yeah, they just want to pass their time." Now lets see some supporting characters. Ned was my favorite. The way he supports Peter and also adds some level of comedy was good. Michelle at times felt irritating. Tony was good for the amount of screen time he received. Pepper Potts was back which was unexpected. I liked her in the Iron Man trilogy and would like to see further where this character would go. And a special mention to Vulture/Adrian Toomes. I liked this villain. He has this personal vendetta which added something to his character. I guess this is one of the best villains MCU has given. Regarding some flaws in the film. I guess it is basically the time-line. They say the events of this film takes place 8 years after The Avengers which doesn't make sense. Because Civil war showed us the events (of Avengers) to be taking place in 2012. And Happy's statement regarding something in 2008 too contradicts the time-line. Also Shocker was not given much importance in the film. The 2nd post credit scene was basically some kind of joke about patience which I liked considering the way we wait for Post Credit scenes in MCU. The design for the costumes both the rough one that Peter wears during the second half and the one that Stark gives him was great. But I hated the costume Stark was supposed to give him in the final scene. Thank God, Peter didn't take that. The AI part in the costume was also good. That was something different I never expected. There were some scenes in the trailers that didn't make it to the final cut like: Iron Man and Spidey being together and flying, Tony saying to Peter that you don't need to worry about the "Flying Monster Guy" and an alternate type of entry for Vulture. I hoped these scenes would be there but unfortunately were not.

Acting: Tom Holland rocked in his role both as Spidey and Peter. Jacob Batalon was great as Ned. His comic timing was spot on. Zendaya was good and irritating (in terms of her character) too. Micheal Keaton was great as Adrian and Vulture. Laura harrier was also good as Liz. Tony Revolori was also good as Flash Thompson (a somewhat non-white take in the character that I liked). Finally, Team Iron Man (Downey, Favreau and Paltrow) were bad-ass in their appearances.

Favorite Scene: The scene where Tony asks for Peter's suit back because of the Ferry incident. I guess that added a new layer to the film because Peter had to prove himself to Stark without the suit. And as Stark rightly "If you are nothing without the suit, you are nothing". Meaning that it is not any suit that makes you a superhero, but the responsibility of service to people that makes you a superhero.

Verdict: Overall, I had a great time watching this film. Although it had some flaws but still it was an enjoyable experience. At least, better than Amazing Spiderman 2. I hope to see another great solo Spider-Man film and waiting for his appearance in the Avengers too.

I am going to go with an 8.5/10

The best incarnation of Spider man till date. This was a real nod to the comics, showing peter parker as a teenager, while he tries to balance his school life and his superhero life. Humorous in pieces, and certainly not emotional, but loving. Good action sequences and controlled performances from the cast makes it a must watch.

I am not a big fan of this new spidey who is plain right boring when it comes to experimentation with his suits and shooters and innovative tricks in battles supported by his wit and sarcasm . And enough of villains powered by salvaged tech with their only motive of existence is their hatred against Stark.
