This was my first Indian Disney film, and it could work as a crossover film to Western audiences, as there was only one dance number before the credits (at a party) and a love song montage number. It's in the vein of Princess Diaries and The Prince and Me.

The standout of the film is Fawad Khan as the uptight Mr. Darcy of Indian princes. His acting is superb, and you can't take your eyes off him in every scene, not just because he is an absolutely gorgeous man. This is Fawad Khan's debut Bollywood film, but he is well known in Pakistan and India for his TV serial work and a few Lollywood films.

I was less impressed with Sonam Kapoor as the vivacious Dr. Milli, a physiotherapist who shakes up the stodgy royal household as she treats the wheelchair bound king. I kept thinking about how Deepika Padukone would have run away with this role. Sonam was just okay, but I loved my favorite character actress Kiran Kher as her mother Manju. You can always count on Kiran Kher to steal every comedy scene.

This movie is an enjoyable trifle, and I would watch it again just to see Fawad Khan smolder up the screen. I will be most interested to see Fawad Khan in future Bollywood films. Can he dance like a typical Bollywood hero? I was so curious about his past work, I watched the first episode of his Pakistani TV series Humsafar on ErosNow when I got home from the movie.
