We always eagerly wait for, say a Rohit Shetty film or a Rajkumar Hirani film, because we are well aware that they would surely take the Box-Office by storm. Once in a blue moon comes that movie which, in spite of being directed by a debutant director, scores big at the ticket windows. Here, we will give you a glimpse of the Top 6 movies which still hold big records to their names.

1. Sajid Nadiadwala

2014 started dull for Salman Khan, what with Jai Ho not performing upto the mark. In fact, it was an underperformer after a series of blockbusters since Wanted . Then, on the auspicious occasion of Eid, released the directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala titled Kick which was the Hindi remake of the Telegu film by the same name. As expected, there was Salmania all over as it broke every possible record and ended its lifetime run in the vicinity of 233 crores. It still holds the record of being the highest grossing Bollywood movie among directorial debuts.

2. Arbaaz Khan

After Dabangg, reports suggested that director Abhinav Kashyap and Salman Khan grew differences between them and were not in talking terms due to some personal issues. Still, that didn't stop Salman from making its sequel. Hence, he planned to rope in his own brother Arbaaz Khan to direct the second installment of Dabangg. It released during the Christmas Eve's extended weekend and raked in huge moolah at the B.O. The lifetime total stands at somewhere near 158.5 crores which is massive for an inexperienced director. Underperformance or critical appreciation is not something about which we would discuss in this space.

3. Abhinav Kashyap

Now, I'm tired of praising Salman again and again. Is there no one else in Bollywood who has made a mark in this category? Well, you would have to read this full article to find out that. Abhinav Kashyap, the brother of the ace film-maker Anurag Kashyap, debuted in Bollywood with this flick. As we all know, this was Salman Khan's first 100 crore grosser. As usual, Dabangg also released on Eid and managed to make a collection of 145 crores approximately.

4. Siddique

It seems that there's only Salman Khan who is ruling this chart. While others don't prefer a debutant director for a biggie, Bhaijaan is never hesitant to sign directorial debut ventures and fortunately, he strikes gold everytime. After the success of Ready, Salmania again hit the country in the form of Bodyguard. Unlike his previous films, this was emotional and had its heart in the right place. It connected well with the audience as a result of which it went on to register a lifetime collection worth 142 crores. Directed by Siddique, this movie is the official remake of the Malayalam film by the same name. *He directed both the movies*.

5. Tinu Suresh Desai

So, at last Akshay Kumar is the new entrant to this list. Or should I say, Tinu Suresh Desai? Well, though some may argue by claiming that 1920 London was his directorial debut, but let me tell you that the shooting and pre-production of Rustom started much earlier than that of 1920 London. The latter was a complete washout whereas the former generated a lot of hype before its release with its interesting promos and melodious soundtracks. It released during the Independence Day's extended weekend and took a humongous start at the B.O. The final domestic collections stand at 128 crores which pretty much tells the tale.

6. Karan Malhotra

How many of you have watched Brothers? Do you know who helmed that Hindi remake of Warrior? Well, he is none other than Karan Malhotra of Agneepath fame. Earlier, he worked as an assistant director under Karan Johar in My Name Is Khan. Later, he got his first break in Bollywood under Dharma Productions. Fortunately, it scored a big sixer at the B.O. by collecting huge amounts not only domestically, but also globally. This crowd puller, which released during the Republic Day, managed to earn a total collection of 120 crores approximately which is massive.
