5 Things To Look Forward To On TV In 2017

With less than 48 hours to go for 2016 i.e one miserable gem of a year to end, let's see what 2017 has in store for us.

1) Sherlock

The return of the prodigal detective BananaFace CrumpleSnatch and his hobbit sidekick. Season 3 was quite a letdown for some but the Christmas Special last year made it all up and with new characters overshadowing the old, 2017 will be off to Sleepless Sunday Nights and speculative Monday Mornings.
Moriarty!

2)Netflix

Netflix to rescue with tonnes of new stuff to keep us on the binge. With Stranger Things returning to answer some important questions and Marvel taking a stronghold in Tv verse with Marvel's Iron Fist and Marvel's The Defenders, a pleasant Aziz Ansari makes his goofy way into the second season of slice of life comedy Master of None. A Series of Unfortunate Events being the dark horse for the early January release, looks like Netflix is in no mood to chill in 2017.

3)Prison Break

After a brief stint in The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Michael Scofield is back to his holy ground, Prison! Although Flash followers might have been used to brothers reuniting for their arc was literally A song of Ice and Fire, it will be tough for fans to gulp down some of the facts for the show and the after-movie ended on a clear cut note that nothing could be built from it. Let's hope they don't crash and burn like Heroes Reborn .

4) American Gods

Straight outta Neil Gaiman's work of the same name, this series has the power to either make it one of the most interesting shows of recent times like what Westworld did or else it might fizzle out well before anyone says the word "Blink". Bryan Fuller is at the helm with an offbeat cast and a story which is a blend of ancient Greek Mythology and Urban America with some of the themes reflecting Gaiman's one of the most prolific work Sandman. Starz has taken up this show so we given their previous projects Spartacus: Gods of the Arena and Fuller's penchant for the Gore, expect it to have similar shades.

5) Doctor Who

A new dawn. An ageing doctor possibly for the last season. 2 new companions. Exciting new villains. Same old target missing mini stormtroopers aka Daleks. The Doctor is back after taking a break last year with a fresh air after having one of the most hated companions of all time. The Christmas Special brought the good ol' story telling of monsters, heroes and plot twists and the short glimpse into the new season and the companions.
